Justice Clarence Thomas wanted to boost his income — and Republican billionaires were happy to give him a lavish lifestyle so he wouldn’t resign from the Supreme Court.
It's corruption, plain and simple.
The Fourteenth Amendment disqualifies Donald Trump from running for president again—and the country must abide by its clear command, @judgeluttig and @tribelaw argued in August. https://t.co/A6DhvUaj2t
Barring Trump from the ballot for violating the 14th Amendment is NOT undemocratic. It's called UPHOLDING the US Constitution. You know what is undemocratic? Trump attempting a coup and engaging in the Jan 6 insurrection.
"Clarence Thomas has no business hearing this case. Why? Because his wife was a major player in the whole insurrection. And he should, if he had principles, recuse himself," says @judgecordell on the Supreme Court likely taking up Trump's banning from the Colorado ballot.
This suit isn’t just “clever.” It’s legally bulletproof. Now that Rudy’s hurtful lies about these two women have been found by judge and jury alike to be unprotected by the 1st Amendment, an order to shut the hell up is legally solid & fully enforceable.

The five signs of fascism:
1) Rejecting of democracy in favor of a strongman
2) Stoking rage against cultural elites
3) Nationalism based on “superior” race
4) Extolling brute strength & heroic warriors
5) Disdain of women and LGBTQ+ people
Sound familiar?
A whole lot of people were saying we were going to be in a recession by now, and they got it very wrong.
President Biden's policies not only kept us from a recession, they've allowed the economy to THRIVE.
A whole lot of people owe our President an apology.
Vance once called Trump ‘America’s Hitler’. Now, when Trump actually echoes Hitler’s rhetoric, Vance defends him. Hard to think of a more cynical member of the Senate (and yes, I am including even Lindsey Graham here).
BREAKING NEW: In a new book by former Trump official Miles Taylor, it is revealed that President Donald Trump made explicit comments about his daughter Ivanka, which were deemed inappropriate by his Chief of Staff. These remarks serve as examples, as mentioned by Taylor, of the rampant sexism that occurred almost daily in the Trump administration.
Such incidents were severe enough for a senior female official to express her concern, stating that the work environment was not suitable for women. Taylor notes that Trump's comments included discussions about Ivanka's breasts, and backside, and even speculated about engaging in sexual relations with her.
Former Chief of Staff John Kelly had to remind Trump that Ivanka was indeed his daughter. Taylor also claimed that senior counselor Kellyanne Conway called Trump a misogynistic bully, but Conway denied commenting. Taylor expressed his concerns about Trump's behavior and questioned the possibility of re-electing him as president.
I'm a little suspect about the Colorado ruling but do think Donald Trump is disqualified from the ballot because he is a foreign national and I will not rest until I see a copy of his long-form birth certificate and verified video from the moment he came out of the birth canal.
IF the US Supreme Court agrees with the Colorado Supreme Court that Trump is disqualified from the presidency by way of the 14th Amendment, Trumpers can write in Trump all day but even if he wins he can NEVER be sworn in as President. NEVER.
If I sound like a broken record, I'm sorry, you might have to unfollow me for posts like these.
But I don't believe it should EVER be accepted as normal that a major presidential candidate is lifting words for his speeches directly from Hitler.
ADOLF FUCKING HITLER.
The same guy that many of our parents and grandparents fought against in World War II.
The same guy who believed in a "master race."
The same guy who murdered 6 million Jews.
WORDS MATTER. And with over 170,000 words in the English language, I don't believe there is EVER a good reason to parrot that monster's words, and that is exactly what trump is doing.
Instead of outrage from his own colleagues on the right, we get comments like "That's trump being trump." That is totally unacceptable.
Where is Elise Stefanik and her grandstanding? Where's Lindsey Graham and his pearl-clutching? Where's disappointed Susan Collins and her lesson-learning?
I'm not Jewish, but I don't think you have to be Jewish in order to abhor what the most evil mass murderer in history did -- and to abhor the same words he used to help make it happen.
You don't have to be Jewish to be repulsed and outraged by a major American politician channeling one of the worst human beings who ever lived.
Hitler DEHUMANIZED people with his words. And when trump talks about immigrants "poisoning the blood of our country," he's pulling from Mein Kampf.
You CANNOT be our President if you refused a peaceful transfer of power by staging a coup.
You CANNOT be our President if you are promising to be a dictator on Day One.
And you CANNOT be our President if you are pulling lines right out of Hitler's speeches.
And I will be hollering about this until I can't anymore, until I feel like enough people are as concerned as I am about it. This is NOT OK.
Silence is complicity.
If you can't deal with it, unfollow me now.
Hungary accounts for just 2% of the EU population but has derailed a vital aid package to Ukraine and now threatens to veto Kyiv’s future as a member. With Putin’s fortunes rising, it is time to suspend Hungary from the EU’s foreign policy decision-making https://t.co/2Z5j0fcsy7
The Colorado Supreme Court just ruled Donald Trump is disqualified from the ballot — and from holding office — under the 14th Amendment.
Accountability for inciting an insurrection.
It’s about time.
