For the first time in my entire life, I’m seeing the Dead Sea.

To see this view, I had to leave Gaza alone, without my family, after enduring 17 hours of interrogations by Israel. They had refused to let me leave twice before this attempt, and they wouldn’t even allow me to take a bottle of water with me.

They left us without even the basic necessities for 5 hours at the Kerem Shalom crossing.

Then they humiliated us, refused to let us sit on any chairs, and made us wait for buses coming from Jordan for two hours while we sat on the ground.

There were patients and war-wounded people with me. They were all asking for water, but they weren’t even allowed to use the bathroom.
