We’ve been made aware of others using our images, some of our original content and our name and then watering down our message. These accounts are sharing false information and pathologizing language to talk about autism and autistic people.

@NianticLabs The world is awful enough right now. Can you not be yet another power player trampling on and disregarding human rights of oppressed people? Do the right thing.
@NianticLabs How about you don't support an organization that wants to exterminate a group of people from existence. Autism Speaks does not help autistic people.
@NianticLabs Even if there weren't a ton of #ActuallyAutistic people telling you that Autism Speaks is no good, Charity Navigator says the same. https://t.co/j9xwSfEGBv
@NianticLabs Pokemon Go (and Ingress before it) have been very important to me in being able to get out of the house and do something that feels like doing something and seems somewhat doable with my disabilities. And supporting autism speaks is saying people like me shouldn't exist.
@Loveexplosionx2@NianticLabs what's fun is that in their recent reports, they've combined family services with their awareness campaigns, to hide how little actually goes to communities and make it seem they help more than they do
@NianticLabs Again, I am autistic. I have played Ingress, I play Pokemon Go. Please, Niantic, I know a huge amount of other autistic trainers. Please reconsider. https://t.co/Ug97nnenc0
@NianticLabs In fact, were you aware that the vast majority of funds raised at Autism Speaks walks never comes back to the communities they are donated from? And that the majority of the AS budget goes towards advertising not supports, services or research?
@NianticLabs As for SARRC, it mainly supports intensive behaviour therapy for autism, which is neurological. Current studies are showing that autistic people have high rates of PTSD and it's being linked to exactly that kind of therapy. I urge Niantic to reconsider this event
