Woke up to some incredible news this morning, I am once again the #1 Bracketologist in the world!
Huge thank you to @bracketproject for all the time and effort they put in to track this throughout the year, and to each of y’all who have followed along with me on this journey!
@Beavlieve Because of recently bias. Even though the mid major representative doesn’t have to be a conference winner anymore, I really doubt that the committee would keep Boise in that spot after a loss.
@BastienFachan FAA would be a good pick but most of his success has come on indoor hard courts where there’s only one M1000.
De Minaur has arguably had the most success across all courts of active players without winning one.
@Tennis_tipp@RowzReport@nishikoripicks He was a favorite in his first round match, Popyrin though was an underdog in every match he played during his Masters 1000 run.
@RMarsonet@SportsHorn Fair! With how good he is on indoor hard courts though he probably believes that he could make a decent run there to stay just inside that top 16 seeding range, which is big for the AO.
@vshsinsnevaua@Kevinustb@tenniscorigami It did happen in a 2003 Davis Cup match between Novák and Davydenko, but his Scorigamis are specifically about the four majors.
@CF_Budge Great list. I would put NDSU and Navy in the top tier over USF and Troy, but overall not much I disagree with. (Liberty in the 4th tier does seem a bit harsh though.)
@Gill_Gross With the draw wide open now, could he win this thing? Sign me up for a Next Gen Jódar vs. Fonseca final.
(Also would be cool if De Minaur finally won a Big Title, but his current form is a bit meh.)
@josemorgado This really could’ve been FAA’s chance to finally get a M1000, especially with him being at home. The other top name in the ATP without one’s De Minaur, but of all times for a draw to open up for him his form might not be there right now. Maybe one of the U20s? Fonseca or Jodar?
