In Cincinnati, Ohio, Joel Wegener, a father of ten, sought meaningful employment, self confidence, and independence for his two adult children with Down syndrome.

In 2021, he acquired an ice cream truck and launched Special Neat Treats, a family operated venture rooted in love, purpose, and community connection.

His children actively participate by serving customers at neighborhoods, schools, and local gatherings, gaining valuable work experience while spreading happiness to those they encounter.

Yet this initiative extends far beyond ice cream.

It represents dignity. It represents opportunity. It represents the belief that every individual deserves the chance to thrive. Customers arrive seeking treats, but they depart with something far more meaningful: the inspiring message that love can create more than a business.

If you think this war is about politics, Israeli policies, Palestinian rights, ‘occupation,’ or any of the other pop-culture virtues signaling terms being used, you’re deluded. This is an existential war against the formidable force of apocalyptic Islam. Hamas is not interested in a ‘free Palestine’—they seek the annihilation of the Jewish people and the eradication of the State of Israel.

On civilian casualties in Gaza:

1. Hamas’ infrastructure is firmly embedded and hidden within civilian centers in the Gaza Strip. They understand clearly that every act of violence demands a response from Israel and they understand clearly it’s toll on the civilian population. They are responsible.

2. The IDF has given clear instructions to the civilians of Gaza concerning where to go and what to avoid when airstrikes are conducted. Hamas—the ‘government’ of Gaza—has commanded civilians to disregard these instructions. They are responsible.

3. Civilians in Gaza understand clearly who Hamas is and where they operate. A choice to remain inside a building that is used for jihad is a conscious decision. They know the consequences.

4. Many civilians in Gaza hate Hamas and are in a very sad and dangerous position. None of their Arab/Muslim neighboring countries will accept them and use them. In other words, their neighbors WANT them to be killed in Gaza because it’s good for PR and keeps the propaganda train moving.

5. Egypt (Israel’s ally) shares a border with Gaza and is refusing to open it en masse. They do now want their country bloated with jihadists anymore than it already is. They understand what and who is inside Gaza mingled among the civilian population.

6. Many civilians in Gaza support Hamas. And that support is fanatical and blind. They choose to remain and every civilian death is given martyr status. No one wants to talk about it, but the Palestinian people have a severe jihad problem that is destroying their society from within.

7. All over the Middle East, civilians are dying on a daily basis because of jihadist regimes who indiscriminately bomb and ravage them, but we don’t hear anything about it in the news because the world doesn’t care about it. Why? Because Jews aren’t involved. If you don’t care about civilian deaths in Syria, Iraq, Yemen, Afghanistan, Armenia, or Turkey, then you’re rage over Gaza probably has more to do with propaganda than people.

8. I’ve been in war zones all over the Middle East and have watched how airstrikes are conducted by different armies. No one does it like Israel.

9. Civilian casualties of war are without hesitation the very worst part of war. This war will have many. And many people will use them for politics and propaganda. Not everyone who makes noise about it has the moral high ground (here’s looking at you Erdogan and Ayatollah Khomeini)
