The 2024 peace laureate, Nihon Hidankyo, is an organisation of survivors from the 1945 atomic bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki.
Through sharing their stories, they work to strengthen the taboo against nuclear weapons and to ensure such devastation is never repeated.
Their symbol, the origami paper crane, stands for peace, memory, and hope for a world free of nuclear arms.
