No, this generation is taught to believe everything a women says, thats not protecting them. Thats enabling them. It's certainly not protecting them from themselves. GenX men also didn't let women start fights with men in the streets because they'd watched Hollywood movies where hundred pound women are taking out a half dozen hardened 200 pound thugs all while telling their man, "I don't need you to fight for me, I can take these pitches myself" back then, woman only jumped into a fight to protect their man if he was loosing. Now the men have to jump into unwinable fights because the women are starting fights with guys that their man would have walked away from. Women today have been disillusioned to believe they are as capable as a man in every way accept being raped. Then its always the mans responsibility to know, even when they're drunk, if she's too drunk, or if she'll regret being a willing participant the next day and tell people he raped her. That and doing physical labor are the only time they believe men are responsible.

Id take the before in a heartbeat. Not just on looks, but if the after is what she thinks is beauty. She probably change her definition of internal beauty as well. Not to say being fit, or feeling attractive is wrong. It's just that making a physical transition like than is usually accompanied by a change in the people around you.
