I'm choosing to take this as a genuine question. Black men don't have a problem spending time with their kids, the dominant narrative that they don't is simply not true. It's one of those persistent stereotypes (like similar ones about other groups) designed to divide rather than reflect reality.

Social science shows that people of all races and ethnicities include the full spectrum of behaviors, but positive, everyday fatherhood isn't 'provocative' enough for algorithms and newsfeeds to push. The salacious, negative stories get amplified instead.

In truth, studies (like CDC reports) consistently show Black fathers are often more involved in daily caregiving, play, and routines with their children than fathers in other groups whether living in the home or not. The real issue isn't lack of desire or effort; it's that the better versions of fatherhood across the board rarely go viral. I think we're more alike than we're not and that fact isn't highlighted nearly as much which begs the question; why? I hope we can elevate our engagements with each other to close the divide to the bridge of a better country for our children.
*I apologize for the long rant, but I refuse to sit idle while people who have no historical equity in our country spin false narratives and half-truths. Peace!
