@AaronSiriSG Please push your guy @RobertKennedyJr@SecKennedy to get this done nationally. Or, if EPA won’t budge then he can do the whole state by state approach with public pressure.
To all the media outlets and twitter bros suddenly reporting on Lebanon, realize that Israel has been killing men, women and children since October 2023. They have been killing journalists, medical professionals, Lebanese army members, municipality workers. From November 2024 until March 2nd this year, every single person they killed was a civilian. Every single one.
During the ceasefire, they systematically targeted civilians and civilian infrastructure on a daily basis. I know because I was there and so were my colleagues from Al Akhbar, Al Mayadeen and Al Manar.
Here is a video report and funeral video of a family that was attacked by an Israeli drone. An 18 month old child was beheaded, as was his father. What you see the paramedics picking out of the upholstery are baby teeth and skull fragments.
This is what it is actually like to report from the frontline in Lebanon.
@awgaffney@anish_koka Agreed. They might’ve been kicked out then but the point is that neither one should be kicked out. I never get the idea that because people on the “other side” are hypocritical is justification for becoming hypocritical oneself.
If we want nice things, we can have them. But we will not get them by voting for politicians who are bought and sold by corporations — the same corporations who wrote the rules to rig the system against us.
Doug Friednash, a head lobbyist for Saudi Arabia, has written an oped insisting that Graham Platner has too many red flags and will cause Dems to forfeit the moral high ground.
Good to know!
@mehdirhasan The media running all the non-policy character smears on Platner is basically a gigantic golden endorsement that — at least they think — he’d actually challenge the establishment and corporate power
If you don’t want decisions to look like a job audition, you block the revolving door that makes that possible at all.
Industry pays fat salaries and it is who the FDA interacts with all the time. You can’t have a revolving door and not have the corrupting incentives and consequences.
🔵 Democrats retake the lead in Maine on Polymarket as the party grows increasingly desperate to end Susan Collins' Senate career and moves past the Platner scandal (Polymarket)
It’s almost like they are working overtime to earn the title of Fake News.
How many stories have they covered or candidate corruption or taking money from corporations or foreign lobbies that kill people?
Pathetic. Unserious. Untrustworthy.
NYT published uncorroborated accusations against @grahamformaine of “unsettling” and “toxic” behavior that came from a Heritage staffer who previously worked for a conservative org that backs Collins.
Susan Collins's latest financial report just came out.
A staggering one-third of her money raised this quarter came directly from AIPAC.
Senator Collins is bought and paid for by Benjamin Netanyahu, and she votes accordingly.
I’ve been banned from the UK. I tried to get on a flight to London to attend SXSW London and give a speech at Oxford. I’ve been banned for criticizing Israel. Are we free anymore? This is oppression of Western citizens by our own governments on behalf of a different country!
A judge has ruled that corporations can vote in some Delaware elections.
Delaware Superior Court Judge Craig Karsnitz said the town of Fenwick Island was not diluting human votes by allowing companies and other legal entities that own property to cast votes in municipal elections.
These "legal entities" and corporations make up about 12% of registered voters in the town.
In total Delaware has far more corporations chartered in the state than residents.
Judge Karsnitz rejected the constitutional arguments of the ACLU, including the claim that "entity" or corporate voting dilutes the political power of living people.
To be clear: they’re not protesting against the sexual torture of Palestinians by Israeli authorities. They’re protesting against the NYT for reporting it.
