We describe some of the most amazing specimens of this large predatory therocephalian and discuss its role in the Permo-Triassic ecosystems of the Karoo Basin. A big thank you to my co-authors (@dimetrodoc and @JenniferBotha9) and funders (@GenusPalaeo and @PASTEvolve).
🚨New paper for #FossilFriday. I'm really excited to announce that the first chapter of my MSc has been published in @PeerJLife. The postcranial anatomy of Moschorhinus is now live.

I got to spend 2 weeks in the field with this legendary group of researchers. 🤩 Such a pleasure being surrounded by such passion and excitement for science. 🦖🦕🐊⛏
Happy #FossilFriday! A team of palaeontologists has just returned from the field in the Eastern Cape. 🇿🇦⛏ They collected giant jackets and many many fossils that include a late branching pseudosuchian, sauropodomorphs, theropods and more! 🦕🦖🐊
Breaking! A newly discovered gorgonopsian in the Karoo, Inostrancevia africana, belongs to a genus hitherto only known from Russia.
This genus includes the largest top predator gorgonopsians known. It appears in the Karoo right before the end Permian mass extinction, 252 Ma.
The irresistible face of the small karenitid therocephalian Mupashi from the upper Permian of Zambia.

Today is the first of many in Permian and Triassic collections at the @burkemuseum! #FossilFriday
Very excited to announce that my honours research has been published!
There's more theropods lurking in the rocks of the Elliott!
Thanks to my coauthors and supervisors @JenniferBotha9 and @jonahchoiniere

Mystery fossil - help wanted.
Can anybody shed light on this. It looks like a millipede-like carapace, but I am no invertebrate palaeontologist. Found next to a Lystrosaurus skeleton, Early Triassic, terrestrial setting
Hi everyone, check out our latest work on Massospondylus https://t.co/bVyTn3FGLt, Kimi Chapelle @Kimi_Chap did an amazing job at documenting the growth patterns of this sauropodomorph with a massive sample size
Hi everybody, we've, as in Jonah, Roger and I, (@BensonLabOxford) just published a cool paper on sauropodiform growth. If you're interested here's the link!. Rapid growth preceded gigantism in sauropodomorph evolution https://t.co/AH1UQlc6hv
Hi everyone we've just published new data on the ornithischian dinosaur... Check it out if you're interested.... Osteohistology and taphonomy support social aggregation in the early ornithischian dinosaur Lesothosaurus diagnosticus https://t.co/0d8N3FC2T3
I’m very happy to put this saga to bed. Here’s the paper introducing this new species of therocephalian from Antarctica, with @PaleoZoek@dimetrodoc https://t.co/h3FvZB9Z7n
Two gondwanan eutheriodonts from the Early Triassic for my book (still in prepepration). The small therocephalian Ericiolacerta and the cynodont Thrinaxodon
