There are numerous documented biases in the peer review system. We cannot have a diverse, equitable, and inclusive science unless we challenge these biases.

Two things can be true at the same time: all Israelis are grieving for our dead. And our grief is being used and manipulated by a cynical government that couldn't care less about us, our future, or the full humanity of our Palestinian neighbors. I am so tired of these people.
1) You're just never going to give me information that makes me say "Now I see why Hamas had to kill those kids."
2) You're never going to give me information that makes me say "Now I see why it's fair to kill Palestinian kids."
I don't see why this is hard.
Like most kids, I was taught to see the world in terms of "them" and "us," Arabs and Jews. I'm so done with that. My people, my real people, are all those between the river and the sea who want to build a future together. For the others, on both sides, I have no patience left.
Every sane person on Earth is horrified and traumatized by what Hamas did and wants it to never happen again. All the more so as a Jew with Israeli family. But I am also horrified by the collective punishment already being meted out on Gazans, and the worse that is about to come.

Thinking today of all the Texas prisoners whose cells will be over 100 degrees this week.
We know from past heat waves that many won't make it out alive.
