@boxu_qi Yes, I agree. Violence can happen between a man to a woman, a woman to a man, a woman to a woman, or a man to a man. Stereotypically, society usually only shows the men as the abusers and the women as the victims.
@DarceeGale Caffeine and alcohol intakes are big ones. Caffeine can increase anxiety levels because it's a stimulant. Alcohol can increase low mood symptoms because it's a depressant. Both of these are not good for stress and especially not good for anyone with mental health issues. #HKR1000
This goes for outside the pandemic as well, of course. For me personally, sticking to a routine helps me. Self care is also vital to help our mood. If you see a loved one who is stressed or upset or anxious, help them. Talk to them and try your best to comfort them. 4/4 #HKR1000
During quarantine there are things we can do to help our mood and stress levels. To positively affect mood and stress levels, we can exercise, spend time with loved ones (in person or virtually), and make sure we’re eating healthily. 3/4 #HKR1000
How we handle these events and our reactions to them is in our control, no matter how hard it is. For example, this Covid-19 pandemic in the world right now is out of our control. All we can do is self quarantine ourselves, stay at home and wait it out. 2/4 #HKR1000
Life events impact your mood in a big way. If you have a big test tomorrow, you're likely to be stressed. If you had a hard day at work, you're likely to not be in a great mood when you come home. Some of these events are in our control and some aren't. 1/4 #HKR1000
@SooleyAmanda I wish there was more that could be done to ensure that violence in homes and relationships doesn't happen ever. Reporting definitely helps but unfortunately doesn't end the violence. Having places for people to go to escape helps as well, but also doesn't end it. #gs1000w2081
Our society tends to look at some jobs as better than others and some jobs as not even work. Just because you're a doctor or astronaut doesn't mean you're better than that waitress or artist. And if someone is a hairstylist, that is their job, that is work. #gs1000w2081
@Maggieee_a@hann_mackenzie Not only should healthy foods be more cost effective, but they shouldn't be more expensive than unhealthy foods, because what do you think people are going to choose? 2/2 #gs1000w2081
@Maggieee_a@hann_mackenzie On the note of healthy food..take milk and Coca Cola: a 2L carton of milk is $3.69 and a 2L bottle of Coke is $2.49. A 6 lb bag of no name apples is $8.99, and you could get a party size bag of chips ($4.99) and 4 Aero bars ($1 each) for that same price. 1/2 #gs1000w2081
@davor_c Yes, stretching trains the nervous system and when you do yoga regularly (and thus stretch regularly), your nervous system is consistently being trained and this helps slowly increase and maintain flexibility #HKR1000
A 1200 calorie diet is sufficient for someone who does not have a special diet (i.e. active people, pregnant women). Maintaining a low-calorie diet, whilst eating the proper foods, will help maintain a steady weight and help uphold good health.

@celinedelaneyy Yes, and because people forget about men's mental health or disregard it because they're "supposed to be macho", some men feel that it's not okay for them to cry, or to have mental health issues, or to express their feelings #gs1000w2081
Regardless of gender, any body with a disability is not unacceptable or wrong or ugly or any other word society likes to use. Views such as these are blatantly discriminatory and ableist. 2/2 #gs1000w2081
Quoted from chapter 46 of our text: "For many women with disabilities, the message is clear-the way our bodies are now is neither acceptable nor desirable.". 1/2 #gs1000w2081
@Charm_petrine I agree, societal expectations make anyone who is not the "perfect size" feel like they're fat, society and media both have huge negative influences on people's self-images
