#whendecisions: A7: I used to believe that the timing of events was irrelevant, but now I see how I can have more control over making effective decisions by focusing on my peaks and adjusting routines.
A6: #whendecisions: Our school has so many activities that synchronize us as a staff and to our students (SAU 3K, Town Meetings, Morning Pledge of Allegiance). Maybe we could adapt our Friday music/dance to a whole school synchronized hallway activity?
@paula_izbicki @DanielPink A6. I read The Boys in the Boat. Talk about synchronization. At work our special ed team is synchronized to work completion and coordination of evaluations to get to a finish line to figure out learning profiles. #when decisions .
Q5: #whendecisions: IEPs written with short term objectives toward a larger goal helps students to stay motivated and work harder as they near the benchmark mark date.
#whendecisions Q4: I use the midpoint of the marking period as an alert to my goals and data. To make sure i'm staying on track and the kiddos are moving forward.
#whendecisions Q3: I agree that we tend to focus on the "what" in our lives versus "when". Our calendars are filled with deadlines. It makes me think more about the quality of our decisions based on the "when."
Q2 #whendecisions Perhaps switching meetings to before school every other month and implementing mini mind and body breaks for PM meetings would keep us alert. The slides ahead of time help too. I'm all for outdoor meetings in warmer months.
@paula_izbicki A1: #whendecisions- While I check emails throughout the day, I will try to save the direct communication with parents to the peak morning times, after allowing time for reflection. I may send a quick email to say, "I will get back to you".
