Talarico's politics are great for states like California and New York, but that boot doesn't fit in Texas.

🚨 CAPITOL HILL: @ChloeCole testifies she began puberty blockers and cross-sex hormones at 12 and underwent a double mastectomy at 15.

Cole told senators she was never fully warned about the permanent consequences, saying children are not capable of consenting to life-altering medical decisions.

Doctors gave Cole's parents an ultimatum—transition or lose your daughter to suicide—a farce many parents are told nowadays, she says.

Several senators say the government has a responsibility to protect minors from irreversible procedures.

More than two dozen states have enacted restrictions on gender-transition procedures for minors, while the Trump administration has moved to limit federal support for such treatments.

The prayer addresses God as "holy mystery" with "so many names" — Torah, Quran, Gita, Dharma — treating all religious traditions as equally valid expressions of the same God.

Jesus is described as "a barefoot rabbi" who "expressed" God's love... one expression among many implied.

The closing line: "build a new world in the shell of the old."

That phrase has a specific origin. It comes from the IWW (Industrial Workers of the World) Preamble, written in 1905. It's syndicalist labor movement language. Not explicitly Communist - but they wanted to abolish capitalism and the state all the same.
