Brers an’ Sista’s, it’s been a long year since Splash Mountain in Florida was closed, but it sho’ was a Zip-a-dee-do-dah day to see all the Splash Mountaineers go fo’ one last ride. Make sho’ to always cherish what you love befo’ it’s gone❤️
When history looks back, I’d rather Tyler Dean McDowell be remembered as someone who fought to protect something that honored a creation born of Walt Disney’s imagination, than as someone who stood by—or worse—celebrated its destruction. History favors those who mourned Horizons.
Disney has lost it if they think Rivers of America is not classic Disney magic, but instead loud off-road racing cartoon cars from an IP that doesn't have the same value as ROA.
Walt would be baffled by such a decision. He would put effort to maintain Rivers of America.
Most folks have no idea Disney’s gutting the Rivers of America. Talked to countless—not a clue. If #WhatWaltWouldSay got wider coverage, it’d be a different story. But seeing a McDowell ‘fail’ was more important, I guess. I didn’t care who sang it; the message needed to be heard.
