Finally got the Z hat made 😂

Small BBI update. I’ve been working on a manifesto called After Us about AI, markets, ownership, research, and what I think the next economic era is going to demand from us.

That work has also been shaping BBI itself. Commons and Vault are still first, but underneath them I’m designing a research system where information can be recorded, challenged, updated, sourced, and eventually shared across a wider network instead of sitting in one company’s database.

Still planning it out, but I’m getting close to the point where planning needs to turn into building.

I have to be honest, I’m not really a crypto guy.

I’m more of a self-studied philosopher and systems guy, and I’ve been buried in this kind of research for about the last 8 years.

When I originally started $BBI, I was attempting to make a coin where the dev doesn’t just wait to dump on everybody. I wanted to give it an actual story, build a real community, and eventually see if we could build into useful things.

What I didn’t expect was for BBI to drop me right in the middle of the same problems I’ve already spent years thinking about long into a lot of nights.

Except now they don’t have to stop at philosophical ideas on paper.

I finally found a place for years of research to start looking at real ways to change the game, with real people making real decisions inside a real system.

One thing I’ve been working on for years is the idea that certain natural patterns seem to survive when you change the scale, or even the field you’re looking at.

Lately I think I have a better way of describing one of the big ones...

Harmony and dissonance.

And I definitely don’t mean harmony as simple peace or everybody agreeing.

I mean harmony as a relationship where the parts can remain themselves without slowly destroying the larger things they depend on.

Dissonance is when that relationship starts to break or erode away.

Something can be doing very well from its own point of view while the system around it is quietly becoming less healthy as a whole.

I think that goes a lot deeper than economics. I think there’s something universal there.

BBI is becoming where I find out what happens when some of this has to leave philosophy and actually work.

AI is my main way of creating any of the systems I talk about right now. I’m not a programmer either, so be patient with me. 😂

I have to be honest, I’m not really a crypto guy.

I’m more of a self-studied philosopher and systems guy, and I’ve been buried in this kind of research for about the last 8 years.

When I originally started $BBI, I was attempting to make a coin where the dev doesn’t just wait to dump on everybody. I wanted to give it an actual story, build a real community, and eventually see if we could build into useful things.

What I didn’t expect was for BBI to drop me right in the middle of the same problems I’ve already spent years thinking about long into a lot of nights.

Except now they don’t have to stop at philosophical ideas on paper.

I finally found a place for years of research to start looking at real ways to change the game, with real people making real decisions inside a real system.

One thing I’ve been working on for years is the idea that certain natural patterns seem to survive when you change the scale, or even the field you’re looking at.

Lately I think I have a better way of describing one of the big ones...

Harmony and dissonance.

And I definitely don’t mean harmony as simple peace or everybody agreeing.

I mean harmony as a relationship where the parts can remain themselves without slowly destroying the larger things they depend on.

Dissonance is when that relationship starts to break or erode away.

Something can be doing very well from its own point of view while the system around it is quietly becoming less healthy as a whole.

I think that goes a lot deeper than economics. I think there’s something universal there.

BBI is becoming where I find out what happens when some of this has to leave philosophy and actually work.

AI is my main way of creating any of the systems I talk about right now. I’m not a programmer either, so be patient with me. 😂

And yes, there is a much bigger, nearly full cosmological framework underneath all of this than I’m explaining here.

Something I started working on before AI was able to help me organize my thoughts.

I have not shown it seriously to... pretty much anyone. 😂

A couple little nuggets before I disappear back into the research:

One has to come before two in actuality.

That goes deeper than it sounds. 👀

And...

It’s easy to explain what’s wrong with a system.

Coming up with something better is the hard part.
