@AriLamm I’m so confused. I really had always assumed the knife was hidden on the left side, and that it was a secret he was a lefty. glad to have this depiction that made me look this up. What an insane way to try to get a hidden knife… I guess this is why he had to clear the room
@thislouis Thanks for the Fred info, cuz I read it Ferd (derogatory Yiddish read that would be the equivalent of SOB) and wondered if they ha a more ambivalent approach
First of all, this is not “under the watch of the IDF”. Burin is in Area A. And it’s a response to the below, also carried out regularly and with impunity (“under the watch of the PA”?), though you don’t hear about these bc a) there isn’t a massive, well-funded activist infrastructure dedicated to documenting *these* attacks, and b) the IDF is not at all interested in protecting Yitzhar, which is part of why Yitzhar’s inhabitants hate the IDF: https://t.co/d3hekotVTb
Now, personally, I think Yitzhar is bad and should be permanently dismantled. I furthermore think (and have stood up in synagogue and given sermons about this) that the entire idea of price-tag attacks is a moral abomination. Anyone found guilty of one should be in prison, and will certainly face God’s wrath.
But I also am not going to sit here and pretend that all this happens for no reason. I’m not going to ignore or, worse, excuse—as the activists do—all the regular violence to which this is a response. Surely the attacks directed against Israelis in the West Bank—usually with no consequences—are worth at least a tiny fraction of the attention that the retaliatory attacks get? And I’m not going to act like somehow the PA doesn’t exist. You don’t want responsibility for Nablus? Then don’t accept it.
Each of these attacks is reprehensible. And more than that, members of each “side” should feel especially morally responsible for the assaults coming from their fellows. If that were where the discourse started, it would be a vast improvement over where we are now.
game changer episodes are all my precious little babies, but tonight's is one of my especial favorites we've ever done.
S06E05: @KatieMarovitch, @brennanlm, and @ChestangRaphael star in...
BINGO.
Crazy episode with @birbigs and @AlexEdelman, where not only does Alex have some great jewish jokes, but plugs @SefariaProject non profit at the end.

Feeling left out in daf today. People talking about alu metzios as being their first perek, and rabbi zucker started with perek hamafkid. #NotAllMetzios
if two people came to court holding a garment, and this one, the first litigant, says: I found it, and that one, the second litigant, says: I found it; this one says: All of it is mine, and that one says: All of it is mine; how does the court adjudicate this case? ...
