Side-note: very interesting to see how China's blend of capitalist and communist traits puts small farmers in China in a bad bind. They can't get insurance because larger farmers are so well-connected to the Communist party. I'll be praying for the least-of-these today.
An odd comparison occurred to me today: rural bureaucrats in China and the United States.

Two podcasts looking deeper at farmers who think centralized government will make things worse. In one, legitimate concerns of ...
... corruption and exploitation of farmers. In the other, ranchers are breaking the law and threatening to kill bureaucrats. Such a clear view of which one depicts the truly totalitarian state.
Podcast of the day: Theology in the Raw - Modesty and Purity Culture

Thank you for this one @PrestonSprinkle! Great to have a frank discussion about what purity culture can do to our daughters. Definitely be taking this one to heart!
@JayneKimlee @kevinmyoung I encountered this tendency many times in the church growing up through the 90's and to today. Often, well meaning believers seek experience over deeper knowledge of scripture. This leads to Gnostism. As an ex-new ager, I'm sure you've seen that issue in church, yes?
@JW25474353 @JayneKimlee @kevinmyoung Agreed. Though, no democracies around that would allow many Christians to vote in biblical times. Staying home does have it's appeal...
@DianeLangberg So true! How are we to convince our brothers and sisters who see political influence as not the exercise of power, but the church changing society?
@kkdumez Great set of interviews on the Holy Post. You mentioned there that you go to a Reformed church. It sounded like a great place. Love to hear more about it and the denomination it's a part of. Where can one look to know more?
@IfErrThrowBrick So great to see a unique profile pic! The Tawny Scrawny Lion is one of my favorite books to read to my kids. And, a fun little allegory of how effective non-violence can be. Just make a little carrot soup!
@NonFungieLee @PPathole@elonmusk Who's lives though? The government sending such weapons is much more inclined to overuse them. These kinds of tools just outsource the casualties.
