@calluna4u Love that -here we have cars, greenhouse & house covered in yellow pine dust. Amazing start to the highland season - we are taking off capped supers tomorrow. That’s approx 2 mths earlier than we take off our first honey. Of course swarming caught us an out being in April!
Wanting to change internal flight with BA. travel agent says “the cost to change this flight to fly from Heathrow to Inverness would be £185.00 plus £75 admin fee per person” can I do this myself? It’s not till mid Nov and new flight priced £45 #BritishAirways
@calluna4u Visited a local beekeepers shop in the Dordogne today (32 degrees) and commented on how little honey for sale. Spring and early summer was too wet and cold and then too hot for the chestnut honey.
@calluna4u Re your comment about bees doing better high up in Glenfeshie, met a 3rd gen Swiss beekeeper who said v poor results on the plains and valleys but way way above average in the high alpine meadows
@calluna4u In mine yesterday, some nectar going in but nothing else good. Queens awol with no sign of anything much except lots of bees, other queens looking like they have stopped laying( due to bad weather) spotty laying few larvae no eggs. I’m off to the sun so will leave them to it
@calluna4u I’ve got bees crammed inside all day long. Need to give them another super for space. I think the heather may have been held back a bit by the weather so looking forward to next week.
When do you reckon the Q changes from laying summer brood to winter brood up here.
@David_Challen There was a time when people who had been convicted of a crime were not allowed to compete in the olympics. I know this was the case in the 1960’s but it must have changed since then
