Kudos to our @ICRC_library team, a small but so powerful and dedicated team. I am always amazed by their constant commitment in ensuring that we remain THE reference on secondary sources related to @ICRC and IHL.
Great visit to @ICRC_library: the world's prime resource for research on @ICRC & #IHL!
Huge thanks 🙏 to our teams for
➡️ preserving & making our titles available onsite & online
➡️ providing support to colleagues & researchers worldwide

Here's a standing ovation to our Assistants @ICRC LDP 👏👏👏:
Everyday you...
➡️ manage your managers
➡️ organise & enable our work
➡️ prevent & fix all kinds of disasters
& allow the rest of us to take all the credit.
You are the real heroines of our Department - thank you!
@ICRC_library compiled a list of sources on the ICRC attempts to save lives during 1994 genocide in Rwanda. Some are heartbreaking testimonies of feeling completely helpless in front of the immensity of the horrors they were witnessing.

So grateful to our new Director @NMelzerICRC for his support and praise of the incredible work of @ICRC's Archives and Library teams in acquiring, safeguarding and making available evidence of the suffering of millions of people during some of the darkest moments of humanity.
Thanks 🙏🏻 to all our @ICRC Archives teams for tirelessly processing, organising & safeguarding millions of reports, files & data from 160 years of war, tragedy, hope & humanity.
Without you countless families, colleagues & future generations would forever remain without answers.
La @RadioTeleSuisse fête ce week end less #100AnsRadio. Quel plaisir d'écouter des podcasts sur les femmes et les combats depuis la salle des archives de la Radio!#archives

So many inspiring presentations at #ICAroma2022 on the importance of making our archives accessible across borders. Who knew maths would be so useful in archiving...
On April 30, 1980, #QueenElizabeth and her husband, Prince Philip, visited for the first and only time @ICRC headquarters in Geneva. The visit was filmed and is available on our AV archive portal: https://t.co/k9Bp3YnMr5
Who said lawyers do not have a sense of humor? A famous quote from Jean Pictet, @ICRC vice president who was instrumental in drafting the 1949 Geneva Conventions for the protection of victims of war and their Commentaries.
#Quoteoftheday to celebrate the birthday of Jean Pictet, @ICRC vice-president and drafter of the #GenevaConventions.

The fact that the ICRC today is responding to twice as many people in need as 8 years ago fills me with a deep sense of accomplishment. The @ICRC will continue to stand with communities affected by conflict and violence, together with the Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement. 7/7
For 150 years the @ICRC has helped families find loved ones missing in war. POWs and civilians. Now they're doing it for families in #Ukraine and #Russia. Here's my radio story for @BBCWorld https://t.co/5gKIw00KMq
@ICRC archives are all about people. Decades from now, families of Ukraine and Russia will continue to write to us to obtain news just like @ImogenFoulkes 's relatives did.
Such important work @icrc does. My great grandma got news of her husband, my mother in law got news of her brother. The news wasn’t always good, but knowing is essential. Then & now. #Ukraine#Russia Ukraine war: Helping families find missing loved ones https://t.co/UrlrOhFGmc
@ICRC archives are about people we sought to protect and assist during some of the darkness periods of humankind. Read more on Frank and Joan that took a decision during WWII that changed the course of a life forever.

Passionnante visite guidée des archivistes et bibliothécaires CICR aux archives filmées de la cinémathèque suisse à Penthaz. Les archives filmées du @ICRC sont conservées dans leurs locaux à une température de 7 degrés. Merci @cinemathequech !
