We don't even let the #KernRiver have the leftovers. For a river with an average annual flow of over 700,000 acre feet, this is unacceptable. That volume of water could cover the island of Manhattan in almost 50 feet of water. #Bakersfield deserves better. #BringBackTheKern

Did the drought kill the #KernRiver? This photo of a full Kern Island canal was taken this week. Kern Delta Water Storage District is entitled to the first 300 cubic feet per second of the river's flows via this canal. Guess how much is left for the rest of us?

The canal may be private property, but according to the CA Constitution, the *water* in the canal is public property. We are asking the @CaWaterBoards to protect the #PublicTrust and restore the flow of water to #Bakersfield's critically endangered
