Was in the audience at WCB meeting today for this and it was really special to be present in person. Not many dry eyes in the crowd after the passionate presentations in support of acquisition funding for CA’s first and only Black-led conservancy. Congrats @40AcreLeague
History was made today! Today, we were approved to receive $3M in funding to support our first land acquisition of 650 acres. As California's first and only Black-led conservancy, we're excited and humbled for what lies ahead. More to come.🖤 #BlackLandMatters
There has never been a more exciting time to join River Partners. If the idea of working for the org with the biggest riparian and floodplain restoration footprint in the West sounds exciting to you, well, it is!

@YubaSupBradford Franklin's is legendary-not sure you'll have time for the line that forms. Non-bbq but a unique spot is Ranch 616 and you might want to check out the nightly emergence of the largest urban bat colony in the world, just a short walk away from the convention center.
‼️Help @AmargosaConserv fight exploratory lithium drilling within feet of one of the most special desert spring ecosystems in the world. You wouldn't want this on your favorite creek/river so let's send a message that better siting of Li extraction by BLM is needed.
This is challenging part of my cancer experience & one that can be hard for others to understand. Assuming you're in the clear can be years away. We are lucky to achieve NED but it invites a dark shadow into your mind that's always there, the chance of recurrence.
I feel like I should start prepping people for the reality that I'm not going to have an "I'M CURED" day any time soon...I will likely get to a "No Evidence of Disease" state, which would be extremely good news. Then you actively monitor for relapse for years. If there's a relapse, you build a new treatment plan, and with hodgkin lymphoma, you still have a pretty good chance of getting back to NED.
With HL specifically, five years after NED, they say you can comfortably say you beat it. I will certainly let you know if and when we hit that day, but it will be...more than five years from now.
Currently in Denmark visiting family and surprised to learn of the Danish drought. Funny for this California water observer because apparently it has not rained in....17 days.

School strike week 251. Today, I graduate from school, which means I’ll no longer be able to school strike for the climate. This is then the last school strike for me, so I guess I have to write something on this day.
