BREAKING: MSCI JUST ANNOUNCED CHANGES THAT MAY RESULT IN MICHAEL SAYLOR'S STRATEGY'S REMOVAL
ONE OF THE LARGEST INDEX PROVIDERS IN THE WORLD IS NOW OPENLY ANTI #BITCOIN
THIS IS INSANE ‼️
🚨BREAKING: MSCI officially moves to remove Michael Saylor’s Strategy from its global indexes, starting November 30.
MSCI will now treat companies like Strategy as “non-operating” and ineligible for its indexes.
Strategy is on MSCI’s list of potential deletions, alongside Bitcoin treasury firm Metaplanet.
The final list is due on November 11.
JPMorgan previously estimated Strategy could face about $2.8 BILLION of selling if dropped from MSCI indexes.
MSCI MOVES CLOSER TO EXCLUDING STRATEGY AND OTHER BITCOIN TREASURY COMPANIES FROM ITS GLOBAL EQUITY INDEXES
MSCI is advancing a proposed methodology that could remove Michael Saylor’s Strategy ($MSTR), Japan’s Metaplanet, and other digital asset treasury companies from its Global Investable Market Indexes.
The proposed framework would classify companies primarily engaged in accumulating financial assets as “non-operating,” making them ineligible for inclusion in major equity benchmarks.
The potential consequences are significant:
- JPMorgan estimates $2.8 billion in forced selling of MSTR shares by passive funds tracking MSCI indexes.
- Broader outflows could reach $8.8 billion if other index providers adopt similar rules.
- Strategy’s counter-analysis suggests MSCI-tracking funds hold approximately 3.1% of its outstanding shares.
A final decision is expected around October 16, with implementation potentially beginning November 30.
That’s a lot of passive buying pressure taken off the table.
$MSTR is a FIC node, and the Financial Industrial Complex (FIC) has spoken.
$BTC wrapped in FIC financial products and digital credit is NOT resistance to banks.
It is subordinate to banks and their financial engineering games.
Bitcoin in self-custody is the resistance.
This is nothing but an L for MSCI.
$MSTR is a function of investor appetite for amplified Bitcoin.
Not tradfi normie index flows.
This is going to age so terribly for them.
Bullish $MSTR.
