Just like all doctrines of governance throughout history say “all men are created equal” were void of honesty. Saying “nobody is above the law” is equally void of any honest sentiment. Most people in government have proven time and again they are above the law including yourself. Quit virtue signaling.
Crazy thought. I’ve always wanted to be homeless just to see what it’s like. I just want to do it for a year. If I didn’t have a family that relied on me, I would. There’s a freedom in it I think
To add to this. The people who work in the government also realize you can’t go somewhere else to get your license or tags. This turns them into little authoritarians. For instance, I bought a UTV in WY. I was told by the DMV I had to have it or they couldn’t license my vehicle. I went home and researched the regulations. There were at least two other options and possibly a third. I brought these options up with the regs. She said “no sir, I’ve been doing this for 15 years and this is how every DMV in the state does it. I asked for the reg and she quoted me regs from a completely different part of the law, like maintaining curbs or something. I even gave her the actual regs to look up and she refused. I ended up writing an email to WDOT. The next day the lady called me from the DMV to apologize and inform me of the other options I already knew about. It didn’t matter at that point as I already acquired the signed Bill of Sale. The system is filled with sludge and unnecessary hoop jumping.
@PeterAPatriot@elonmusk The Oklahoma government privatized the driver’s license and tags arm of the DMV and they work incredibly well. In and out in five minutes. Forgot some paperwork. Just show them digital proof. Who knew it could be so easy?
In 2021 I was deployed to Iraq. I had a lot of time on my hands to look at investments. I really liked bitcoin at the time and looked at LEAPS on MSTR. I said nope. Doesn’t look safe and they were dirt cheap. I bought options on fertilizer instead. Win some and lose some
I sometimes have these thoughts. I write them down and most of the time they come to me in a dream. Here’s two:
Dreams are a connection to God. Alcohol muddles the mind and cuts you off from that pathway.
Water has the ability to sustain life and destroy it.
I’m not sure what they mean yet. But I’m pretty sure there’s a lesson in there. I do believe we are three. We are flesh, spirit and consciousness. I’m just not sure on the order. Most people would say we are a body with a spirit. I’m more inclined to say we are a spirit with a body. I think our conciseness lies elsewhere.
Parallels. Abraham was told to sacrifice his son Issac to God. I always thought this was a super messed up story. But it had meaning. So Abraham straps some wood to Issac’s back and he carries his own sacrificial fuel up a mountain. The end of the story, God provides a Ram (a male sheep) to be sacrificed. Now take the story of Jesus. God has his own son Jesus carry the wood on his back, the cross. He carries it up the hill of Calvary. But in this story, Jesus was the Ram or the Lamb of God. Abraham’s story was a prophetic foreshadowing.
Leadership. Let’s talk about it. I sometimes ask people who they look up to or who they would do anything for. Ask yourself this question and take a moment to think about it. It usually but not always comes down to parents. Jesus said the greatest amongst you shall serve. I used to have a red shirt with that verse on it with two ping pong paddles. I didn’t know what He meant. I believe I do now. As a parent there is nothing I wouldn’t do for my children. My life is servitude to them. I give up my own selfish desires to see them smile. As a military officer for twenty years, I only realized this after about my twelfth year. Serve and through servitude you will lead.
Another thought occurred to me recently. It was about the parable of talents. Not talents like singing but talents as a weight of money. It’s Matthew 25:14. Each servant was given talents according to his ability while the Master went away. The first two did pretty well and doubled their Master’s money. The third guy just buried his one talent in the ground and reproduced it when the Master came home. Here’s what hit me now. We will all die. When we die, we will meet the Master. The Master gave us a hand of cards in life according to our ability. I’m asking myself what did I do with this hand of cards because I’m going to have to give an account of the life He gave me. I can’t believe it took me all those years to figure this out. It’s not about multiplying money. It’s about multiplying his Kingdom.
In 2011 I was deployed to Afghanistan for a year. I was young and only had $10k to play with. I had read many investment books but one lesson stood out to me. Buy what everyone uses. So I divided that money up into AMZN TSLA NFLX and NVDA.
