I'm thinking back to that time in college when I was still a "pro-life" evangelical. A Jewish friend thought she might be pregnant, and I was trying, the best way I knew how, to support her so she didn't feel like abortion was her only choice.

@HipHmschoolMoms@samanthapfield Luckily, there were a few professors who took me under their wings and guided me through the process of figuring out how higher education is supposed to work. But if I hadn't found helpers, I might just as easily have fallen thru the cracks and left college feeling a failure.
@HipHmschoolMoms@samanthapfield I graduated summa cum laude from college... But my parents were NOT involved in my high school homeschooling. I faced a huge learning curve when I started college; I didn't even know how to write essays. I had no calculus and I didn't understand the periodic table.
@Matthew_Palangi@BonaThird @RabbiHarvey It stands for Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, it's the largest sect of Lutheran in the states, and it's fully open to and affirming of LGBTQ+ folks.
Those who say "ELCA isn't Lutheran" are in the same vein as those who say that LGBTQ Methodists aren't "real" Methodists
If you care about abolishing the death penalty, you should also care about abolishing life without parole & sentences so long theyโre effectively the same. Both entirely give up on any possibility of future redemption, change, humanity. Both condemn people to die in prison.
@SeidlerThomas@hcarolineking And if you'd rather go straight to the audio of him saying 16 year old girls are in their reproductive prime (discounting that they're far more likely to *die* from childbirth than are women in their 20s), here: https://t.co/6zxrYdLgxY
Matt Walsh advocates for the impregnation of girls as young as 16 because it's "technically when they're at their most fertile" in a newly unearthed rant about how teenage pregnancy isn't "the problem it's unwed pregnancy that's the problem in society"
Before Matt Walsh became a Daily Wire personality, he co-hosted a local radio show where he defended political violence and teen pregnancy, performed racist impressions of Black men, and said that โwe probably lost our republic after Reconstruction" https://t.co/rB4X81kHft
@PastorTrey05 I keep Cholula and Sriracha on the table because my kids are so "precious" that they think they'll literally die if their tongues touch too much flavor. So, I use salt, pepper, garlic etc to taste while cooking... but then my spouse and I kick it up several notches at the table.
Today, day 18 of covid, I was out of bed for nearly 6 hours, which was several hours longer than I'd managed any other day of this illness. I feel like a new woman! (A tired new woman, but still.)
This brings back memories of flying #Delta from Madrid to ATL in 2013. (No, not good memories.) Although at least for me, the *only* person shaming me for feeding my child was a flight attendant.
