Off-Ramp NYC is a bold emerging vision to bring together the best of NYC in the places that most tear it apart. The BQE cuts through the center of the cultural & economic corridor that can most drive the future accessibility, affordability & innovation of the city.
Fire truck is completely stuck in traffic but thank god the e-bikes can still get through to deliver food to the lazy ass office workers.
Good job @NYC_DOT@transalt@OpenPlans@Uber@lyft@DoorDash !
69 St and 69 Pl both used to have two lanes in each direction and moved at 30 mph when I last used them about 20 years ago. Yesterday, they crawled at 3 mph with only one lane in each direction. It took like 15 minutes to go six blocks.
“Our message to Albany has been clear for months: Let us clean!" - Sanitation Commissioner Gregory Anderson.
NYS Assembly has days to pass a bill allowing DSNY to enforce alternate-side parking rules with cameras attached to street sweepers, which means YOUR street will be cleaner.
A street sweeper can pick up 1,500 pounds of trash per shift, but only when they have full access to the curb lines; 500,000 car owners disregard street cleaning regulations every week.
"If you decide that your convenience is more important than clean neighborhoods, then yes, you will receive a summons. And if Albany lets us send that message loudly and clearly to all neighborhoods, people will finally start to move their cars. We don’t want to issue summonses — we just want to clean the streets.”

As I expressed to @BrooklynBus when he first wrote this, the issue is NOT making bus service faster.
This enshittification project exists as a method to INCREASE congestion on Flatbush Avenue. Point blank, PERIOD. There are NO other reasons for that sector of Flatbush to be "reimagined" in such a manner, other than as a pretext for the expansion of congestion pricing to the outer boroughs, and the restriction of traffic along this street to buses and commercial traffic.
I do wonder how long it will be before Brooklyn is carved up into 15-minute zones, and gated off such that people can only move throughout the borough if their social credit score is high enough.
We have potholes the size of craters but @NYC_DOT thinks it’s more important to promote a cyclist breaking traffic laws over street repairs. Welcome to socialism.
One man, chest-deep in floodwaters on the Jackie Robinson Parkway, risked his life to pull strangers from a submerged car—while New York’s leaders remain dry and detached.
Routine rain, century-old infrastructure, and decades of incompetence: this is not weather. It’s the predictable failure of a city that talks equity but can’t deliver basic competence.
COURT ST BIKE LANE -THE SCREW-UP
Biz owners said they LOST BUSINESS FROM CUSTOMERS WHO PREVIOUSLY ARRIVED BY CAR.
Many reported safety issues NEAR COLLISIONS OR NEAR-MISSES BETWEEN CYCLISTS & PEDESTRIANS

Yes. We have enough bus lanes. Now they are turning existing bike lanes into protected ones and doubling the size of protected ones. When will it all end?
MTA vehicle catches on fire right in front of headquarters… and somehow we’re supposed to act shocked? 🚨🔥
This is what happens when maintenance gets ignored, equipment gets pushed past its limits, and workers are forced to “make it work” instead of management actually fixing the problem. The frontline employees know the truth. They adjust every single day to machinery that should’ve been repaired a long time ago.
Ask any Train Operator about “long brakes.” Ask workers how many times they gotta compensate for equipment problems just to keep service moving safely. The public only sees the fire when it finally blows up in everybody’s face.
But trust me… the warning signs were there LONG before the smoke. 👀🚇

#NewYorkRealm special report
Too bad I missed @GershKuntzman yesterday when I was working downtown, I would have shown him how "bikable" it is to ride to and from the Brooklyn Bridge bike path to the west side bike lanes.
His and his bike bro and goil cult pals just don't want to be inconvenienced by going a block or two to get there and back.
You gotta expect that from adult size children who want barriers for their leisure rides and don't want to follow traffic laws.
All @StreetsblogNYC ever does is lie. Just like @TransAlt
