I’m still processing whether it is real, I’m National Board Certified! So many times I felt like giving up. I’ve gone through stages of excitement, disappointment, and self-doubt. This is by far the hardest thing I’ve ever done in my life and the accomplishment I’m most proud of!
Got these beautiful letters from a colleague’s class and my own student. Seeing another teacher’s success is also a gift in itself. We all know this job has its challenges. But these small moments of connection are exactly what keep us going. Happy Teacher Appreciation Day!

Proud to share my student's Op-Ed piece, "Recognize new struggles facing men", published in the Star-Advertiser's Insight Column. Tanoa tackles the question, "What does it mean to be a man in our modern society?" A necessary conversation on issues impacting men's lives today.

This column was submitted by Tanoa Viernes, a junior at Ka‘u High School.
