You're a journey, constantly evolving, culmination of your past, present and future . So, who are you? The sum of all your parts, a mystery even to yourself.
Who are you? A name? A profession or a belief? No, you're more than just a label, a title, or a religion. You're a complex being, a tapestry of experiences, emotions, and relationships.
But can we learn to pause and slow down? Slow down and allow ourselves to feel, to heal, and to grow. Sometimes, slowing down can be the most productive thing to do.
I recognise that fast-living has become the norm, "hustle culture" has won, and "being busy" has become our new mode of existence.Convention has taught us that if we want to be seen as having something going for us, we need to be busy or at least act like we are.
Here's to a 2023 filled with genuine happiness, letting go of unnecessary strength, and finding peace and healing. May this be a year of truly living. Cheers 🥂🥂🥂
Thank you for reminding me that wishes are not enough, for none of the things I only wished for were granted. Thank you for making my actioned plans a reality.
And for all these and more, I'm grateful. Year 2022, thank you for teaching me that no matter how bad things seem, we are not at rock bottom and never will be because there is always a worse situation.
And for the world's and life's unknowns, I approached them with more curiosity and increasingly more worship. As each day passed by, I learned new ways to live and redefined my purpose. I learned to be a lot more honest with myself and everyone else.
But through it all, I found solace in reading books and in philosophy, tapping into the ancient wisdom of men who had walked and understood my path. I embraced writing to help clarify my thoughts.
Year 2022: How did I survive?.Nothing short of a miracle—a modern-day wonder. The year was swift, almost too fast for me to keep up. I found myself drowning in my own thoughts, a realisation that filled me with fear.
Unpopular Opinion.
You may have heard that success and happiness are subjective. Yes, that's true, but at some point down the line, some lives become objectively better than the others.
There’s nothing wrong with you. You’re constantly growing and evolving, unlearning old patterns and embracing new, healthier ways of being. Nothing is wrong with the core of you. You’re unlearning generations of harm and embracing love, and compassion. Be patient; it takes time.
Allow yourself to receive in direct proportion as you as you give.
Be compassionate, but don't forget to extend that courtesy to yourself
Learn how “No” is sometimes the most compassionate word to say.
You may care because you secretly wish someone cared as much as you do. And perhaps you give because deep down you know what it feels like to lack. But be careful not to become an overgiver, a people-pleaser, or someone who burns out to make others feel warm.
People talk about being strong all the time. In reality, people buy into you based on emotions. Show it, or attract zero opportunities. Showing vulnerability doesn’t make you weak. It makes you memorable, and memorable people are top of mind for new opportunities.
