I think this is excessive on the verse or maybe I'm missing some context. If someone says, "It shall be well with me" is that evil speech?

What the Bible says is that we should subject all our plans to the will of God, and all our sayings alike.

We should say "If the Lord wills," not that we shouldn't say at all. We should plan and subject the plan to God's will, not that we should not plan at all.

Taken the way you presented it, we would become passive; and if we become passive, we won't do anything for God Himself.
