Algorand lets the people who produce blocks decide which builders get grants
Crypto grants are usually handed out by a foundation. @Algorand's xGov program lets the people who keep the network running vote on them instead, with funds paid onchain to open-source builders.
Voting power comes from producing blocks. Each block that an account produced over a recent 3 million-block window counts as one vote, so busier node runners carry more weight.
The biggest nodes can’t push a grant through alone because a proposal needs at least 51% yes votes plus two turnout minimums: one counts every voter equally, the other counts voting power, and bigger requests need higher turnout.
@AlgoFoundation took xGov live on mainnet in July 2025. Block-producing accounts enroll for a small one-time fee to vote.
JUST IN: Algorand showcases real-world sustainability tracking by tracking 3 million litres of treated water on-chain
3,000 delegates each had one cubic metre of treated water verified and recorded on the algorand:native blockchain at Rome’s Euro-Mediterranean Water Forum.

An upgrade is the safer choice.

Massive week for #Algorand DeFi and @pact_fi keep eyes on socials.
So hyped everything is finally falling into place.
I WILL NOT STOP UNTIL DEFI IS THRIVING AND PACT IS LEADING!
That is encouraging to see;
1.) Algorand created about 5.5 million new accounts (accounts that have received funds) in one year.
The total account count stands at 53.42 million currently.
2.) It's also good to see that daily active addresses are steadily rising.
A look back at Multichain Day at @token2049 Singapore, powered by Algorand! 🇸🇬
From @mdmudassir0143 talking x402 and AC2 on stage to connecting with builders alongside @maroti_ps at our booth, it was great to see the ecosystem come together.
Big thanks to @wrappedxyz and everyone who joined us!
How far will algorand:native ALGORAND go in this cycle?
• algorand:native → $0.25
• algorand:native → $0.50
• algorand:native → $1.00
• algorand:native → $2.50
• algorand:native → $5.00
Is $5.00 possible for algorand:native? 🤔
At $5.00, algorand:native will have a MC of $47B 👀
With significantly more adoption and revenue, and with a foundation that buys Algorand for a reserve or token burn?
Maybe.
But we’re a VERY long ways from that being true.
🧵 The post-quantum transition is taking shape. @Algorand is already building.
✅ State Proofs
✅ Native Falcon-1024 accounts
✅ Applications like PQ Attest
Next target: broad quantum resilience by 2027.
From research to real use. 👇
The post-quantum transition is becoming a real infrastructure project.
Governments are setting migration milestones.
@Algorand already has deployed technology, usable accounts and a roadmap toward broader protection.
First, the government timelines need context.
The EU targets migration of high-risk use cases by the end of 2030.
The UK sets an intermediate milestone for 2031, with full migration targeted for 2035.
Different scopes. A shared need to prepare. (https://t.co/43Q7WqMmAc, https://t.co/VR30dtGR0K, https://t.co/VR30dtGR0K)
Algorand’s progression:
✅ 2022: Post-quantum State Proofs
✅ 2025: First Falcon-based mainnet transaction
✅ 2026: Native Falcon-1024 accounts
⏳ 2027: Target for broad post-quantum resilience
Each milestone protects a different part of the system.
Start with history.
Introduced in 2022, State Proofs use Falcon signatures to attest to Algorand’s blockchain history.
That provides post-quantum protection for historical verification, an important foundation for independently checking past activity.
Then comes transaction authorization.
The 2025 implementation used Falcon through LogicSignatures.
Native Falcon-1024 accounts followed in August 2026, with support across SDKs, AlgoKit and @PeraAlgoWallet.
Developers and users can access these capabilities today.
What remains?
Algorand’s roadmap includes post-quantum work on validator selection through VRFs and on consensus signatures.
Broad resilience by the end of 2027 remains a target.
Protecting history, accounts and ongoing consensus requires several distinct upgrades.
There is already measurable activity.
In September, @Algorand reported that Pera helped the network surpass 1 million PQ-resilient transactions.
A significant share came from its commemorative NFT campaign — useful context for understanding the milestone.
And @algodevs are building applications.
PQ Attest fingerprints confirmed transaction data from supported chains and anchors it on Algorand.
Falcon-1024 signs the on-chain attestation; ML-DSA-65 signs the returned proof bundle.
PQ Attest also connects this to agents:
• MCP access
• USDC payments through x402
• Free proof verification
Its listed source networks include Bitcoin, Ethereum, Solana, Stellar and Hedera.
The extra protection concerns the evidence; it does not upgrade the source chain’s security.
Alongside this sits the agent ecosystem:
• AC2: user-controlled approvals and credential isolation
• x402: payment-aware services
• AP2: payment authorization
• @GoPlausible: Algorand tooling
These address complementary needs, without implying one fully integrated product.
Algorand’s PQ work has also been discussed in research from Google Quantum AI and Coinbase.
That provides technical context for examining its approach.
The meaningful questions remain: what is deployed, what does it protect, and what still needs work?
Separately, the SEC’s 2026 interpretation identifies ALGO as a digital commodity, based on its characteristics at the time of the release.
That is regulatory context. The technical case rests on the implementation and its security properties.
What interests me is the progression:
Research → deployed cryptography → usable accounts → developer applications.
Algorand has delivered several steps, with substantial consensus work still ahead.
That makes this a development story worth following.
“ $ALGO at $11.50 is a valid target. Scale out well before it.
The 4.236 extension puts ALGORAND $ALGO near ~$11.50 and the market cap is not enormous.
Some runs stall at 1.618. Some blow past 4.236.
Most holders should set a take profit well below $11.
$ALGO ”
If Algorand becomes EVM compatible then $ALGO will move into $2-5 in quantum speed.
If AVM was a human it would have been an introvert with serious social issues.
P.S. look at HDDVD and Betamax
🚨 WILD BUT TRUE:
The Dallas Cowboys' defense has allowed a HIGHER passer rating through 5 games than Aaron Rodgers had during his 2011 MVP season.
Rodgers' 122.5 passer rating is the HIGHEST ever recorded by an NFL MVP. 😳
"the rotation at outside linebacker is definitely something we'll look at."

maybe i said it loud enough ⤵️
