@afshinrattansi When the KMT retreated to Taiwan in 1949, it took large amounts of gold and assets, while industrial equipment and key infrastructure were damaged or destroyed. Meanwhile, the newly established PRC, starting from poverty, faced Western isolation and a long-term U.S.-led embargo.
@HomerPavlos It’s hard to believe that Turkey still refuses to acknowledge the genocidal atrocities it committed throughout history, while continuing to systematically persecute and oppress ethnic minorities at home.
@SharonBelmoo Mongolia is facing a fuel shortage, with 3+ km lines at gas stations and signs of unrest. Its Defense Minister visited Japan in late September, while China announced a halt to refined oil exports in October.
@Mel0nL0ve@Steamedbutt You claim that Uyghurs in Xinjiang are being systematically erased. To verify that claim, shouldn’t you actually go there, investigate on the ground, and find out the truth for yourself? That’s just basic common sense. Anyone with an IQ above 10 should be able to understand that.
@aslikadinnn The ancestors of the Uyghur people in Xinjiang were the Huihe people, who were skilled in both warfare and the arts of song and dance. They never considered themselves to be so-called Turks, which they regarded as the greatest insult to them.
@Mel0nL0ve@Steamedbutt Is your view based on those documentaries? Why only believe what you’ve been told? If you ever get the chance, visit Xinjiang, see it for yourself, and ask local people about their own experiences. Wouldn’t that be more convincing?
@lusope86@DonaLarocas Due to its refusal to comply with China's government regulations at the time, such as deleting content involving pornography, violence, and drugs, or refusing to store Chinese users' data on servers located in China, Twitter (X) exited the Chinese market on its own.
@Min_jiyuu Do you even know what life is like for ordinary Uyghurs in Xinjiang? Go look it up on YouTube yourself. Turkey is suffering from severe inflation, economic problems, and huge pressure on ordinary people. Maybe focus more on the hardships of your own people.
@noppo6 In Chinese dining culture, it’s considered polite to follow the host’s arrangements. So at a state dinner in the U.S., a Chinese leader wouldn’t bring their own utensils.
@Handre The reality is that when the KMT retreated to Taiwan in 1949, it took much of the gold and other assets with it, while industrial equipment and key infrastructure were damaged or destroyed. Meanwhile, the new PRC faced comprehensive economic isolation and a U.S.-led embargo.
@mariocavolo Don’t forget that Osama bin Laden and al-Qaeda were major sources of funding for these extremist separatists, while Turkey supported and sheltered many extremists who fled China after carrying out terrorist attacks.
@Pratyusha Don’t waste your time trying to convince Indians. They’re so obsessed with their own rhetoric that they’ve lost touch with reality. From top to bottom, this country is full of people who talk big but rarely follow through.
@DavidZhang360 In Chinese dining culture, it’s considered polite to follow the host’s arrangements. So at a state dinner in the U.S., a Chinese leader wouldn’t bring their own utensils.
@OopsGuess Like that lost hatch cover, it’s all hype. Does the U.S. defense industry even have the production capacity? Without China’s heavy rare earths, can the U.S. really produce advanced weapons? And if U.S. weapons have backdoors, who would dare import them?
@zhao_dashuai The UK recently rejected BN(O) visa applications from some Hong Kong protesters, citing Hong Kong court rulings. It’s a reminder that Britain is pragmatic: separatists who no longer serve a purpose can be discarded.
@Ignis_Rex@AKorybko The current U.S. ambassador to India explicitly said at a Senate hearing that India is effectively America’s “inside ally” within BRICS, noting that India tends to side with the U.S. on various issues rather than with the BRICS bloc.
@jankrolONE@DanCollins2011 Tesla’s 2014 patent pledge was a business strategy, not a “gift.” China’s EV industry was already taking off by 2008, and Chinese EV makers built their success through their own innovation—not by copying Tesla. Their technology path was fundamentally different.
@venaInSV How many eras apart are they actually? What exactly does this “completely different picture” look like? Why not just say it directly? Let’s stop playing word games.
