I don’t have some great origin story, or a story where I hit rock bottom and built myself back up. I am just a regular guy who has spent the last 20+ years trying to constantly learn and grow.
And I have reached a point in my personal development that I am ready to give back and help others. And it really leveled up when I became a dad, so what better group of people to help than dads.
My goal is to help dads become more physically and mentally fit.
@tyromper This is so true!! "It's pretty cool that I strive so hard to make my kids better, but most of the time they are making me better." Well said and a great reminder.
@TenfoldMyLife@smithhmackenzie Just wanted to throw my personal experience out there. It took about a year and a half. 1 year of no alcohol followed by 6 months of limited use, where I really realized how much it was messing with me. And I haven't looked back after that realization.
@flabbytofit99 The best thing I do every day is put my phone with my wallet and my keys when I get home. Allows me to fully pay attention to my kids and my wife!
For me personally, and this may vary for others as we are all different. But I found that I THOUGHT it helped me connect but it really didn't. It was the situation that allowed me to connect, I switched to non-alcoholic beers and found the exact same (if not even better) ability to connect in those situations.
@cycletothesea@FitFounder For some it may not, I definitely know people who it does not. But for me I found even 1 beer messed up my performance and energy the next day.
@chrisboettcher9 It seems like alcohol is a part of culture everywhere. I had no idea either until after I stopped for a bit, how much it really was dragging me down. And to make matters worse I had thought it was actually helping me!
