Washoe County Board of Commissioners approved a mitigation plan that will be taken to state officials for approval on Thursday. It does not include any ease on the states mask mandate, and would allow the county to increase current capacity for businesses from 50%.
The Washoe County Board of County Commissioners are being flooded with public comment requesting a lift to the mask mandate and arguing that masks do not work, however the county has no control over the states orders that the mandate remains in effect.
Reporting today for the Reynolds Sandbox, the Washoe county Board of County Commissioners is meeting to discuss and vote on what COVID-19 mitigation will look like in the county starting up May 1st when the state hands over control.
The City of Reno has issued a mandatory curfew effective immediately. Residents are asked to please avoid the downtown area, and to adhere to the curfew to help protect the safety of our community. As a precaution there will be heavy police presence downtown throughout the night
