@payqueenmona@allenakinkunle The idea of reapplying grosses me out so much. Are you supposed to wash your face every time? Otherwise even if I am careful about not touching my face, I still feel like I am rubbing grease and germs into my pores.
@simohumanoid@zinniaa_3 Cancer, depression, anxiety, neurodiversity such as ADHD and autism, stimulants and other various drugs, can all affect hunger cues and sometimes remove them altogether. It can be extremely difficult for people to eat if their hunger cues are missing.
Intrusive thoughts give way to nightmares and insomnia, which worsens their condition. Their repressed self-hatred makes it impossible to care effectively for themselves.
Their mind becomes even less able to find the truth and confess it - the only thing that will heal them.
In the worst cases, the mind loops in a tortured whirlpool, repeating the story, always with the same omissions, beats and ending, in which *they* are aggrieved, *they* are justified in their lain
They repress key memories about their own agency & contribution to the situation.
Some of the worst cases of PTSD you will ever see are not from external trauma, but from self-inflicted moral injury.
That is, people who have behaved so shamefully that they can't face the person they've become, but also can't accept the loss of their innocent self-image.
James Merrill began this beautiful poem in December 1994 and completed it in a hospital bed in February 1995, shortly before he died from an AIDS-related illness. It appeared in Poetry magazine later the same year.
All jokes aside it's really fucked up to see so many people on here celebrating murder. No one here is the judge of who deserves to live or die. That's the job of the AI algorithm the insurance company designed to maximise profits on your health
This is all I have from my baby that passed away in 2017
I have no remorse for dead CEOs
A senators baby survived with the same problem my baby had because…she had top-tier experimental treatment and I did not
I have adhd but still manage to lead a relatively efficient life despite chronic procrastination + time blindness, and it’s because I *don’t* go against my nature. It never works and usually leads to shame/defeat.
@sympatheticopp to stay stuck in a vicious cycle of unideal treatment. Idk I think it depends, like obviously I don’t think people shouldn’t seek support or advice but I think at a certain point it becomes a critical part of the cycle that entraps you.
@sympatheticopp This is interesting to me. I was just talking to a friend about how I fear relationship ranting is dangerous or at least ill advised as a habitual practice because the relief experienced by complaining and receiving validation from your girlies ends up comforting you enough-
WAIT. there’s a difference between soothing self care and restorative self care. to rise out of burnout, you need more restorative self care. a lot of these things are forms of soothing. they’re both necessary but the restorative helps you rise from under the water
@documense@s_emcy Your wording probably has something to do with her thinking it’s your roommate being controlling cause you made it sound like they are the deciding factor.
@documense@s_emcy If it’s a bad habit from the way you grew up i understand but you kinda put it on your roommate in a weird way. “No thanks, we don’t have room for single use appliances” takes ownership of your own choice instead of implying the decision is not yours
The tricky thing about healing our narcissistic parts is that it means giving up the redemption fantasies that, for most of our lives, may have served as our strongest defences against depression.
