EIL EL KABIR: HAPPY CELEBRATIONS TO ALL OUR MUSLIM BROTHERS AND SISTERS
On the occasion of this year’s Sallah celebration, I extend my warm greetings to all our Muslim brothers and sisters in the celebration of Eid el-Kabir.
Eid el-Kabir remains a sacred festival of faith, sacrifice, obedience, love and total devotion to Almighty Allah.
It is a solemn reminder of the virtues of selflessness, compassion, unity, tolerance and complete submission to the will of God, as exemplified by Prophet Ibrahim.
At this critical stage of our national development, the spiritual lessons of Eid are deeply relevant to Nigeria’s collective journey. Sacrifice, patience, perseverance and shared responsibility remain essential ingredients in building a stronger, more united and prosperous nation for all.
As we celebrate, I urge the Muslim Ummah and Nigerians across all ethnic, religious and political divides to continue to promote peace, harmony, understanding and national unity.
I also call on Nigerians to continue to support the ongoing reforms of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration, which are aimed at repositioning our country for sustainable economic growth, improved infrastructure, enhanced national security, job creation and long-term prosperity.
Though these reforms may require patience and shared sacrifice, they are necessary steps towards restoring economic stability, strengthening institutions and securing a brighter future for generations yet unborn.
Wishing you a peaceful, prosperous and memorable Eid el-Kabir celebrations.
Today, I participated in the Presidential Primary Election of our great party, the All Progressives Congress (APC), at my ward, Ampang East in Kanke Local Government Area of Plateau State. It was encouraging to witness the peaceful conduct of party members, stakeholders, and delegates who turned out with commitment and a shared belief in the democratic process of our party.
I commend all members of the APC for their maturity, unity, and dedication throughout the exercise. As a party, we will continue to strengthen internal democracy and build a stronger foundation for the progress and stability of our nation ahead of the 2027 general elections. Together, we remain committed to the ideals of service, inclusion, and national development.
Today, I led the National Working Committee of our great party to present and proclaim President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as the winner of the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential primary elections held nationwide yesterday.
It was truly a defining and historic moment for our great party. From the House of Assembly primaries to the presidential primary election, the APC once again demonstrated its strength, internal democracy, unity, and nationwide acceptance.
The presidential primary election was conducted peacefully across all wards, local governments, and states of the federation, with the collation process transparently carried out from the grassroots to the national level.
At the end of the nationwide exercise, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu emerged victorious with a total of 10,999,162 votes, while Stanley Osifo secured 16,503 votes.
I sincerely appreciate all our state governors who served as returning officers in their respective states for their commitment, diligence, and sacrifice toward the success of this exercise.
I also thank millions of APC members across the country for their unwavering support, dedication, and belief in the vision of our great party.
Special appreciation goes to Senator Anyim Pius Anyim, Chairman of the Presidential Primary Election Committee, whose exceptional leadership, coordination, and dedication made our assignment seamless and successful.
Today, I continued to chair the screening exercise for serving Governors seeking reelection, alongside Governors aspiring for Senate seats, as part of our party’s preparations ahead of the forthcoming primary elections.
The exercise was conducted in an atmosphere of unity, transparency, and commitment to the democratic values of our great party, the All Progressives Congress. We successfully screened more aspirants today and will continue with the process as scheduled.
As a party, we remain focused on strengthening internal democracy, ensuring credibility in our processes, and building a stronger APC that continues to inspire confidence among Nigerians.
The APC Screening Committee for Sitting Governors seeking re-election or aspiring for Senate seats is chaired by the Party's National Chairman, Prof. Nentawe Goshwe Yilwatda, while the APC National Secretary, Sen. Surajudeen Ajibola Basiru, Ph.D, serves as Secretary. Other members of the Committee include members of the National Working Committee (NWC).
The screening exercise for incumbent governors seeking re-election or aspiring for Senate seats will hold from Friday, May 8 to Saturday, May 9, 2026, at the Plateau State Governors Lodge. Proceedings commence at 4:00 PM on the first day and 10:00 AM on the second day.
The screening for all other governorship aspirants is scheduled for Saturday, May 9 to Sunday, May 10, 2026, at the NWC Hall, APC National Secretariat, Abuja, beginning at 10:00 AM daily.
The Vice President, H.E. Sen. Kashim Shettima, GCON, accompanied by the leadership of the National Assembly, the Progressive Governors’ Forum (PGF), and other senior Party leaders, on Thursday officially submitted President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s (@officialABAT) Nomination and Expression of Interest forms to the APC National Chairman, Prof. Nentawe Goshwe Yilwatda, alongside other members of the National Working Committee (NWC), in Abuja.
Earlier today, I led the National Working Committee of our great party to receive the Expression of Interest and Nomination Form of our leader, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu (GCFR), at a well-attended ceremony at the International Conference Centre in Abuja.
The occasion was witnessed by governors, leaders and members of the National Assembly, party elders, and other critical stakeholders across the country.
The massive turnout and overwhelming show of solidarity further reaffirm the confidence Nigerians and party faithful have in the Renewed Hope Agenda and the purposeful leadership of President Tinubu.
It was not just a ceremonial event, but a strong demonstration of unity, continuity, and collective resolve to consolidate on the gains already being recorded under his administration.
As a party, we remain committed to deepening internal democracy, strengthening national cohesion, and supporting policies and programmes that will continue to reposition our nation for sustainable growth and prosperity.
Together, we move forward with renewed confidence and greater determination for a stronger and more prosperous Nigeria.
WORKERS’ DAY MESSAGE – MAY 1, 2026
Today, as we commemorate Workers’ Day, I extend my warmest felicitations to all Nigerian workers across the public and private sectors, men and women whose daily sacrifices, commitment, and patriotism continue to sustain the engine of our nation’s growth and development.
This day is a fitting moment to recognize and deeply appreciate your resilience, perseverance, and understanding, especially in the face of evolving economic realities.
Your steadfast dedication, even in challenging times, reflects the true Nigerian spirit, strong, hopeful, and forward-looking.
Nigeria stands today because of your labour, your discipline, and your unwavering belief in a better tomorrow.
As we celebrate you, I wish to reaffirm that the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu remains firmly committed to the welfare, dignity, and prosperity of Nigerian workers.
This is a worker-friendly administration that understands that no meaningful national development can take place without prioritizing the wellbeing of its workforce.
The ongoing economic reforms, though demanding, are necessary steps toward building a more stable, productive, and inclusive economy.
These reforms are not ends in themselves, but strategic pathways to long-term national prosperity.
Key initiatives such as the removal of fuel subsidy, the unification of the foreign exchange system, increased investments in infrastructure, expansion of social safety nets, and renewed focus on industrialization are all geared toward correcting structural imbalances and laying a solid foundation for sustainable growth.
These measures are designed to stimulate productivity, attract investment, create jobs, and ultimately improve the quality of life for all Nigerians, especially workers.
While the transition may come with temporary challenges, there is a clear and unwavering commitment to ensuring that the benefits of these reforms will be widely shared and deeply felt.
Let me assure you that your sacrifices are not in vain. The government remains attentive to your concerns and is working tirelessly to cushion the impact of reforms while opening up new opportunities for prosperity and advancement.
As we mark this year’s Workers’ Day, I encourage all workers to remain hopeful, steadfast, and united in purpose. Together, we will build a stronger, more resilient Nigeria where hard work is rewarded, and every citizen has a fair chance to succeed.
I wish all Nigerian workers a peaceful and fulfilling Workers’ Day celebration. May your efforts continue to yield progress, dignity, and prosperity for yourselves, your families, and our great nation.
Happy Workers’ Day!
