Stream‑of‑consciousness rant: WoW always funnels worldbuilding and characterization to the Alliance, while the Horde keeps losing characters, getting sabotaged, and nobody seems interested in fixing their appeal.
Which feeds into itself by making writers write more Alliance POV.
It's good seeing people wake up to realizing how much better Local AI is to Corpo AI.
More and more I'm seeing Corpo AI seem akin to how IBM tried to push mainframes.
The future is Local.
People realize that already.
The markets will too soon enough.
Pretty much.
It's exact same thing that happens in every other country where this is a thing.
When you lose your job, you have to leave the country.
Which gives power over your social connections, your home, your children's futures everything, down to your continued employment.
If you lose your job, you have 60 days to find a job or you have to leave.
This isn't just an america thing either, this is a reality of work visas all over the world.
Additional note:
Very often co-occurs alongside Rejection Sensitivity Dysphoria (RSD) which is a condition that comes with a range of things, including Autism and ADHD especially.
RSD causes people to be more likely to interpret vague or neutral statements as being negative and to also experience physical pain in response to that.
Extremely common in neurodivergence where people are terrified of being misunderstood, because when they feel they don't get their point across in the way they mean to, they get misunderstood and cause arguments, hurt feelings or negative responses.
A learned response from this is to pre-emptively apologise in the same way someone who's been physically hit often my brace against an imagined incoming blow in future interactions.
@Le_Toine_@AgainCarabastin@realOldBilly@smooch_lil But when we are talking about if there is a distinction to be made on the basis of "Is it art or not", that's where we disagree.
I do however believe that human made art brings it's own value to the table in such a way that AI art does not, with traits that are unique to it.
@Le_Toine_@AgainCarabastin@realOldBilly@smooch_lil If you're under the impression there is not technique used in modern day AI Art tools, then you really need to catch up on things.
Where I suspect we find common ground, is that human artists should have protections against the inclusion of their work in datasets in training.
@AgainCarabastin@realOldBilly@smooch_lil So...like AI art.
I get what you're saying, but do you not see how the exact same thing could be applied to AI art if that's the only thing you're hingeing on here?
The point is that subversion of norms, is not in of itself inherently distinctive.
@timedeposit@GundamNoContext No it's called normalising wanting slaves.
Yeah your bottom line will go up, still makes you a modern day slaveowner.
Be better.
@MrRatboyjr@phandlethebants She runs on a generative LLM my man.
You're okay with that or you're not, there's no inbetween on this.
But that's exactly my point.
There's a difference between being Anti AI and looking for the ethical use of AI.
The pure Anti-AI folk are hyerbolic and unreasonable.
@pendaoffa@charliekirk11 I mean that's an entirely different question.
ERDF was a thing, and it got continued up for the remainder of it's contract after Brexit. That's all there is to it.
Here you can see something from the hard brexit page on this from the UK gov website talking about it.
TLDR Contracts continued.
This would be the same under any kind of brexit, and it was.
This an old thing, and that was an old funding, and that is an old notice you photographed.
https://t.co/Zk5Et7MePs
Yeah and we weren't a member of the EU, but there were contracted existing payments and funding that continued, for a time as part of there existing contracts.
This was also part of Brexit, contracts continued until they ended. ERDF funding was one of them.
You are seeing something that was funded by that as part of the re-opening of the communities after lockdowns from the covid pandemic.
Don't be so paranoid about this lol.
