If students aren’t getting enough physical education, movement, & recess, don’t blame them when they get restless, fidgety, & can’t focus in class. That’s like blaming them for simply being a kid. Children are active by nature & need to move. Exercise enhances brain performance.
🐵 ZOOKEEPERS🦁 Kindies pretend they are animals who got out of their cages at the zoo. The zookeepers (taggers) tag animals. If tagged, animals stand in a cage (hoop). One of the other animals help save them by lifting the cage up over their heads! #physed#elempe@Strube_PE
Every player is a tagger in Hospital Tag. When students get tagged they must cover the area that got tagged. Read the official rules and find more #PhysEd lesson plans for free at: https://t.co/1MhkPfhWFM!
Slam Ball in #physed! 1v1, 1v2, or 1v3. Strategies galore in this activity similar to 4 square and @spikeball. If thrower hits hoop or outside of hoop, other S gets point. If thrown and other S drops it, thrower gets point. Thrower's hand Can't cross over hoop. #espechat#pegeeks
See how #PhysEd GAMES are like SEEDS...Read @HDPhysEd's blog post "Fostering Relationships Through Games" https://t.co/Ij5HAYPZ1A Cliff Roop discusses how games provide ideal opportunities to practice skills which go beyond the physical domain to truly enrich S's lives! @espechat
Vent session from a #PhysEd teacher. I am NOT your “prep.” I am NOT your “break.” They are not YOUR students...they are OUR students. I am NOT “gym class.” I TEACH physical education. This culture, attitude and belief needs to be changed. Just my opinion. #ndpechat#espechat#PE
@physedreview Almost every day! Try and switch grades and classes I sit with. Some of the best relationship building I’ve done was at the lunch table with kids.
In a great classroom, the students aren’t the only learners. The TEACHER is a learner also. When teachers are curious, when they are vulnerable, when they continue to grow… they provide stronger instruction, and they provide a great example to their students.
