@asparagoid Also why sports leagues that value 'an entertaining product' over pure competition will eventually burn out. Even if there was no audience, men will still compete to see who is the best.
So it's not fluorescent blue like that guys ai image that had literally the entire left up in arms? And now they've pivoted to 'it looks the same, why even bother?' and 'imagine the kickbacks his contracter mates have made off with.'
Nothing Ever Happens wins again.
@MRobertsQLD Finally someone talking about the second rung of tbd ladder. Buying with the assistance of the government, either a fhb grant, the 5% scheme, or some other arrangement may get you in to a home of your own, but your next home is now further from your first.
@RaymondKeown3 i had heard 750k people, gemini and grok both reckon its more like 300k people that have used the 5% scheme since 2020. Thats a lot of people at risk of negative equity.
@GreenTyler27 Of course it is 'interest free' on paper to conform to sharia - but the bank isn't handing out free money. They take their cut by calling them fees and surcharges, and building the amortization schedule to be seen as a flat rate (not P&I).
@TatjanaKarr@shenreckson I admit that before i had kids of my own i thought 'over-tired' was nonsense. It did not take long after my first arrived for me to roll that opinion back.
@tallsnail People with kids that sleep well/easily/anywhere often cannot conceive of parents battling a child (or children) that won't sleep, crash and burn, sleep in short bursts, etc. They assume it is due to parenting, and that is only true some of the time.
In the tech world, AI has been the perfect excuse across the board. Increasing subs prices, increasing hardware prices, increasing hosting prices, decreasing headcount, removing services, increasing costs of professional services. Just blame AI and no one will doubt it.
@lmudge@iamisla_ For a normal well person, even with kids, you almost never get close to those 20 days. But it's nice to know they are there. A good dose of the flu running through a house, or an injury needing surgery and it disappears really quick.
@GaryMarcus From my relatively unlearned position, the other element here is specialisation. Some AI's are good at code, some are good at understanding spoken language, some are good at image gen, some animating, some writing documentation, etc.
@Monica55dzrh This is almost certainly a bot account, but anyway - the law regarding this will vary by location down to the city/council/estate.
This fence didn't appear overnight. It is on a concrete plinth.
@LadyNimby i'm going to doubt that this observation is universal. In my experience, everyone holds the baby on their non-dominant, or are happily able to switch dependent on tasks
Victoria is rolling out naloxone dispensing machines. They offer free, 24/7 access to medication that can reverse an opioid overdose. 20 machines will roll out across metro and regional areas where theyβre needed most.

@AlanKohler@abcnews I read a stat that 750k people used the 5% deposit scheme. That's a massive number of people that will likely be upside down on their mortgage if house prices fall by even 10%.
