Wrapping up 2025 with a snapshot from our annual Christmas party!🎄
Grateful for a year of shared curiosity, collaboration, and great fun doing research. 😊 On to the next!
Finally, a huge thank you to my wonderful supervisor @IsabelThielmann, who made this work possible and supported me every step of the way! 🙏 This article marks three years of hard work — and just as much fun (!) — during my PhD, and I'm so happy to finally be able to share it!
Are some people more selective in who they help than others? Our new paper with @IsabelThielmann says: Yes!

🔍 Big takeaway:
Our evidence suggests that some people have a consistent tendency to be selectively prosocial, helping only some recipients but not others, while others help more universally. And we can predict this based on specific personality traits! 🤓
A social month for the PIC team! ☀️ BBQ by the lake, then a retreat full of ideas & organizing. It’s so great seeing our team grow—and how we always combine research with fun! 😄
#OpenScienceMeeting2024 has come to an end! It was a great experience learning about tools and resources to foster transparency and collaboration in research. Big thanks to the organizers and everyone involved! @MPDL 🌍📚🔓 #OpenScience
Before many of our colleagues head off on their well-deserved vacations, we went on a group hike which took us to a lovely restaurant with a wonderful view, where we also enjoyed a cold beer in the record-breaking heat. Have a great summer everyone, and stay tuned for news from and events in the field of #criminology @maxplanckpress
#ECP21 did not disappoint!😉 It was so fun meeting all the wonderful people, listening to the great talks, and also presenting our own research. See below for more details on the work we shared at #ecp21berlin👇🏻
Some snapshots from last week at the #ICSD2024 🤓 We presented results from several different studies looking at the relations between personality and behavior in social dilemmas, and had such a wonderful time in Leiden! Already looking forward to the next one 🥳

New paper: Personality correlates of out-group harm
We show that out-group harm is uniquely associated with the 'dark factor', the common core of aversive personality traits -- and unrelated to prosocial traits associated with 'in-group love'.
