Dangote has dragged the Nigerian government to court, accusing it of sabotaging his own refinery.

In an affidavit filed at the Federal High Court in Lagos, the refinery says the government has been deliberately starving it of crude oil.

Think about that. Africa’s largest refinery, in a country that pumps crude every single day, and it says it can’t get enough of that crude to run.

So Dangote is asking the court to stop the government from handing fuel import licences to other players. His logic is simple. Why keep importing fuel when we can refine it right here.

NNPC has hit back hard. They deny any sabotage, say crude supply comes down to commercial and logistical factors, and they’ve turned it around on Dangote, accusing him of trying to corner the market and become the only fuel supplier in the country.

So which is it. Is the government quietly choking the biggest industrial project Nigeria has ever built, or is one man about to end up holding the entire country’s fuel supply in his hands.

Whatever the court decides, somebody is going to come out of this a lot more powerful than they went in.

Mnamo Aprili 13, 2026, kampuni ya Orca Energy iliyoendesha vitalu vya gesi vya Songosongo kwa takribani miaka 25 ilitangaza kuwa imefikia uamuzi wa kuuza biashara yake ya gesi Tanzania kwa takribani dola kumi, ambayo ni sawa na Shilingi 26,000 za kitanzania.

Kampuni hiyo ilitangaza kuwa wanunuzi ni ushirika wa wawili yaani kwanza kampuni ya Amber Energy Investment kutoka Falme za Kiarabu, ambayo ndio itakuwa mmiliki mkubwa kwa asilimia 51 ya hisa; mmiliki hasa wa kampuni hii hajawekwa wazi.

Mshirika wa pili ni Taifa Gas, kampuni inayomilikiwa na mfanyabiashara Rostam Aziz, ambaye atachukua asilimia 49 ya hisa. Kampuni hii kupitia kampuni zake za Pan African Energy Corporation (Mauritius) na  PanAfrican Energy Tanzania (PAET) ndio  mzalishaji mkubwa wa gesi inayotumika kwenye viwanda na umeme Tanzania.

Kati ya mwaka 2021 mpaka mwaka 2025 pekee kampuni hii inayoendesha visima kadhaa vya gesi katika eneo la Songosongo iliweza kupata mapato ya takribani dola milioni 513 ambazo ni sawa na Trilioni 1.3 za Kitanzania.

Sasa imekuwaje ‘mmiliki asiyefahamika’ na Rostam Aziz kuweza kununua kampuni hii kwa shilingi 26,000 pekee?
