Last week, our co-founder, @Byomkesh5 , attended
@EMpowerweb 's Annual Dinner in Support of Youth at the iconic Victoria and Albert Museum in London. The evening brought together nearly 400 professionals from the banking and finance world—philanthropists and supporters driven by a shared passion for empowering young people from underserved communities.

Byomkesh shared the inspiring journey of Reeta, one of our remarkable alumni. Despite immense challenges, Reeta’s unwavering determination has transformed her into a role model within her community. Her story embodies the resilience and potential we see in the many young people we support at Medha. As Byomkesh said, “Our work is not just about creating opportunities; it’s about instilling hope and agency in young people, so they can lead meaningful, self-determined lives.”

It was truly heartwarming to see glimpses of our work displayed at such an incredible event, connecting our grassroots efforts with visionary supporters. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to EMpower for creating this meaningful space and for their steadfast commitment to Medha’s mission.

Congratulations to the EMpower team for exceeding their ambitious £2 million fundraising goal! Together, we continue to pave the way toward brighter, more equitable futures for young people everywhere.

माँ भोर में उठती है कि
माँ के उठने से भोर होती है
ये हम कभी नहीं जान पाये

बरामदे के घोसले में
बच्चों संग चहचहाती गौरैया
माँ को जगाती होगी
या कि माँ की जगने की आहट से
शायद भोर का संकेत देती हो गौरैया

हम लगातार सोते हैं
माँ के हिस्से की आधी नींद
माँ लगातार जागती है
हमारे हिस्से की आधी रात

हमारे उठने से पहले
बर्तन धुल गये होते हैं
आँगन बुहारा जा चुका होता है
गाय चारा खा रही होती है
गौरैया के बच्चे चोंच खोले चिल्ला रहे होते हैं
और माँ चूल्हा फूंक रही होती है

जब हम खोलते हैं अपनी पलकें
माँ का चेहरा हमारे सामने होता है
कि माँ सुबह का सूरज होती है
चोंच में दाना लिए गौरैया होती है।
