After a tsunami, know when it is safe to return.
If there was an official warning, there will be an official all clear.
If there is no impact, you may return after two hours.
#WorldTsunamiAwarenessDay
In case of a tsunami:
- Find higher ground or move far inland.
- Identify safe shelters
- Plan your evacuation route
- Use official tsunami alert systems
#WorldTsunamiAwarenessDay
It's #WorldTsunamiAwarenessDay.
Tsunamis can be deadly, but they needn’t be.
With @UN & partners, @IFRC is part of the Early Warnings for All initiative working together to ensure that everyone on earth is protected by early warnings by 2027.
Early warning & action save lives.
Tsunami waves often look like walls of water and can attack the shoreline and be dangerous for hours, with waves coming every 5 to 60 minutes.
