It's important that we continue to remind ourselves that the tiers in MTSS/RTI represent what WE do (i.e., levels of support) and not who kids are.
There's no such thing as a "tier 2 kid" or a "tier 3 kid". Labeling kids in that way only perpetuates a deficit mindset.

You can’t discipline trauma. So true. A student returning to you from break may very well have experienced some type of trauma. Pay attention to emotions, behaviors and interactions.
