"Trillions is not a large number", says Michai Robertson, Lead Negotiator on Climate Finance, Alliance of Small Island States (AOSIS). Spending trillions on addressing climate change is essential, as the cost of inaction far exceeds the initial investments required.

1/4. “For the Least Developed Countries, the New Collective Quantified Goal on Climate Finance (#NCQG) is part of our survival. Our communities on the front lines are facing the adverse impacts of #ClimateChange on a daily basis.” The @LDCChairUNFCCC, Evans Nijewa.
As #SB60 kicks off, I joined @AOSISChair to stress that the new #ClimateFinance goal must cover mitigation, adaptation, and loss & damage. It should ensure equitable access for LDCs. The old $100B target is insufficient. Developed countries must lead in providing these funds.
