There is, of course, a propaganda campaign vilifying self-assigners as "freelancers". But don't be fooled. The self-assigners in the fire service, as with any industry, are the ones getting things done.

After an OOHCA call, POLICE UP THE AREA and take EVERYTHING out with you if it's in a residence! This applies even if they're pronounced and not transported, because the Coroner Personnel will not do it!
