It would be extremely difficult to avoid lacerating these pelvic nerves whilst ‘blindly’ inserting #mesh
No safety precautions using camera led surgery - no post operative scans to check for misplacement as in a PICC line
#mesh could have been removed within a 2 -4 week window post op- but instead of listening to their patients scream in agony the doctors gaslighted them - told them they needed hysterectomy or it was all in their heads
And the #mesh was left in situ for years & years , no one helped, no one knew how to - it embedded, eroded, caused hideous ongoing infections & in some women they got sepsis & died
Multiple organ & nerve injury was inflicted upon patients that were told “minimally invasive”

🔹Mesh erosion
The plastic erodes through cell walls, there were no trials
🔸we were the trials and this is not ok
Listing these hideous outcomes is all well & good but the explanations are missing & exactly why this went wrong has not been discussed openly #publicinquiry for #mesh must occur
And the MHRA recently admitted to me they weren’t going to do anything about the recent studies that now prove why we are so ill because the studies are too small! The recent studies prove they had no idea what we would suffer because there had been no trials to start with but they allowed it anyway - one big experiment but not interested in our outcomes!
We've fought for over a decade for Sunshine style legislation but despite #firstdonoharm transparency recommendations a recent series of DoH workshops saw no meaningful action. https://t.co/zwUGvKZLj1
Today, new and irrefutable peer-reviewed science proves that the women were right all along. This is no longer a debate about surgical risk; it is a matter of systemic, material toxicity and institutional concealment
#mesh#redress
🔹we were deliberately left undiagnosed when we returned screaming in agony to limit the actual percentage of harm during vaginal mesh surgeries
#mesh#redress
🚨Tens of thousands of women have suffered serious injuries.
▪️Any redress scheme (as recommended in the Hughes Report) should recognise the actual injuries and harms experienced by patients, rather than requiring every individual to prove specific long-term systemic disease.
▪️The evidence of material failure and biological response supports proper recognition of the harm caused.
What is mesh? It’s a plastic medical device used as a quick fix implant in operations to fix prolapse, incontinence, hernia, some mastectomies. But it can cause irreversible life changing pain & complications - impacting the patient, their partner & families #slingthemesh
If the government had put the medical device manufacturers to task regarding transparency & the likelihood of permanent life altering injuries there wouldnt be tens of thousands of women claiming PIP - many of whom were professionals earning good salaries and paying tax!!!

Epistemic Injustice & The Blind Technique:
❗️Mesh was routinely
inserted through the vaginal canal to enter the pelvis using a "blind surgical" technique,
❗️ no camera guidance
❗️no mandatory post-
operative imaging to detect misplacement before the plastic
permanently integrated and "glued" itself into the organs, bones, muscles & nerves of the pelvic
❗️When women complained of immediate 10/10 chronic pain and immune-compromised illness, they were subjected to systemic, misogynistic gaslighting—
❗️dismissed as ‘moaning women’ whose pain was psychological or imagined not real.
❗️Minimizing a physical, toxic degradation profile as a psychological defect is a profound institutional disgrace that has driven many victims to suicidal breakdowns.
women have detailed how catastrophically ill the #plastic#mesh material has made them, only to be systematically disbelieved, dismissed as hysterical, or told their chronic pain was psychological.
2 new research papers prove these women were correct
Regulatory Implication:
The #plastic#mesh material is chemically unstable in the human
pelvis.
Patients cannot give valid, informed consent to a device that
mechanically disintegrates and sheds plastic particles within weeks
of surgery

It’s thanks to Marie at the Primodos campaign that we had the Independent Medicines and Medical Device Review instigated by Theresa May - yet they’ve been dropped from talks of govt compensation 🥲
BJUI Compass study -
🚨Conclusions:
🔷This study characterised an altered systemic immune landscape not previously investigated in mesh failure patients.
🔷Clinically, the ability to identify phenotypic factors or develop biomarkers which predict and monitor mesh responses would help guide clinicians and patients in shared decision making.
🚨There was no consent

Patients globally harmed by polypropylene #plastic surgical #mesh face a wall of institutional denial and a lack of care pathways.
Joining online support groups is often their first step to finding information on why they are so ill. #slingthemesh
