Consensus seems to be that equities are too big too fail. Fair. They are.
But we're nearing a closer and closer point that the proletariat is going to have to choose:
Bonds or Equity.
In this instance, they'll save bonds.
The purse isn't big enough to save both.
@StanphylCap AAPL yielding half a US Treasury Bond. You'd need EPS growth to DOUBLE, price to decline by 50%, or yields to cut in half just to be inline.
It's the heart of the dispersion trade and once correlation returns this is the biggest loser.
@Rugster_CDS@texasrunnerDFW Owning a rental in Central Texas is a losing endeavor. Treasury bonds > CAP rates in Texas. You'll have a minimum 2% drag in perpetuity.
@lord_fed Dude gave a single buyout a week in advance that outperformed all your baskets YTD...
In fact he's the only dude around here I've ever noticed that has done that.
@scottwhite1065 And the 2 times that check came calling, they elected officials that would keep status quo.
The game has always been "hopefully I won't be alive to bear the cost". It's always been a gamble and one that was never going to work. The out was death.
@scottwhite1065 Boomers were the labor class for their entire working career against falling interest rates. To say that is life on financial easy street is not doing it justice.
A literal 40 year run where you couldn't hit financial ruin because there was always an out of cheaper debt.

No Tom doesn't. Neither here nor there. I'm sure you made a killing off whatever thesis you had on inflation last December 🥶
@binaryprinciple@jam_croissant@RemindMe_OfThis This is kind of why giving everybody a platform to voice their opinions may not be the best thing.
In the face of being absolutely and unequivocally wrong that our last FOMC was unanimous to raise rates 12-0, guy with an internet connection proclaims he was right.
@chickengenius That's a few handles below the neutral rate. You're securing duration at a level that's guaranteed to underperform. Nobody with any brains would do it. Higher.
@primediscussion You brought it up. You have just as much access to information and you can't even name Ken Paxton's position but expect a comedian to be in the know.
It's funny. Don't feign outrage when you don't even know what Ken Paxton's job is. Start with the basics first man...
@primediscussion@The_Sad_Banana@huecub You're tweeting and Paxton isn't even a sitting senator. You can't even bring up the correct information you want to yap about.
More people understand Israel controls the US than can name their sitting Attorney General, let alone talk about said crimes of said individual...
@cc_video_edit@Hedgeye Quite literally the worst investment post WW2 was buying into the internet buildout in the 90s.
Almost all were wiped from the face of the earth.
@cc_video_edit@Hedgeye Building out the Internet was a terrible investment for initial builders.
It's the entire premise behind dot com. Investors wiped out and then the next wave built on cheap structure...
