Our lives are full of tiny, not so bad comments. It’s death by a thousand cuts. It’s a slow, intentional shrinking that quiets us. It shapes our behavior, our goals, and what we’re willing to accept.
In my case, I accept none of them.
@CptMoralSupport @lingerie_addict "If they are rude toward my kids" aka if someone doesn't coddle and kiss asses of my shitty, messy crotch fruit, I feel entitled to facilitate their slave wages and potential starvation.
@kadesatracy I have a weird inverse on this....
By 30, I had achieved *everything* I was "supposed to" and even some big bucket list experiences and goals.
And I realized it was all superficial bullshit and now I'm starting my 30s with complete liberation from preconceived ideas of success.
food has no moral value. using terms like “cheat day” & “junk food” sets a precedent for attributing eating “bad food” w/being a bad person. when that connection is made, fat people are viewed as immoral & dangerous for “glorifying obesity” if they openly celebrate their own body
Imagine thinking the people who care about the murder of a child are radicals and that the people who argue for impunity for the murderer are the moral ones.
Happy #420 guys.
People of color are 4xs more likely than white ppl to be arrested on possession charges. And barely any Black people, who have been overly criminalized, are reaping the benefits of legalization/ownership/dispensaries.
So. To the greens. 🌳💵☘️and justice😎✊🏽
@michaelharriot Growing up in Black schools made me better at understanding my privileges before I knew the word for it. And bearing witness to systemic racism and state violence in real time.
Pro tip: When you explain that you understand racism because you grew up poor, lived in a Black neighborhood of had a Black friend/child/partner...
You’re really explaining how little you understand racism.
*taps mic* part of the reason anti abortion activists hate the abortion pill is because they know they can’t intimidate and shame people for their choice if they’re in the privacy of their own home. Ok good talk
So random little history lesson:
Square Dancing became a mandated public school assignment post de-segregation in an effort to prevent the “urbanization” of white youths and to show the importance of “white culture” the irony is every single human being forced to do it hated it
