“To save succeeding generations from the scourge of war."

The @UN Charter entered into force on this day in 1945.

It matters as much today as it did then.

For Palestine refugees, these principles are not abstract.

Peace. Human rights. Sustainable Development.

[Christian Saunders @CFSaundersUN]

A tragedy not representative of the values of Jordan which stands out as a beacon of unity, cooperation, and tolerance in an increasingly polarized world. @UNRWA stands with the Royal family, the government & the people of #Jordan at this difficult time.

[UNRWA @UNRWA]

UNRWA condemns the terrible terrorist attack on the church in Hmoud. We mourn those killed and wish the injured a swift recovery. We stand with our host nation Jordan.

Places of worship must be sanctuaries of peace and safety. Attacks on civilians and religious sites are indefensible.

The international community must do everything to support peace, tolerance, and respect for the rights and faiths of all.

(2/2) ☀️ By investing in renewable energy, UNRWA is lowering operational costs and reducing its environmental footprint while making the most of limited resources. The award recognises the collective work behind initiatives that support essential services for #Palestine Refugees.

[Amanya Michael Ebye @UNRWAJFO]

(1/2) 🏆 A milestone for sustainable operations! @UNRWA has won the 2026 UN Supply Chain Award in the Sustainable Procurement and Supply category for its 3 MW Solar Wheeling Station project in #Jordan, recognising its commitment to renewable energy and efficient resource use.

[Christian Saunders @CFSaundersUN]

At the 52nd #OIC Council of Foreign Ministers in #Baghdad, I was encouraged by repeated messages of solidarity with #Palestine refugees & support for @UNRWA.

These messages must translate into sustained political and financial support. #Palestine refugees cannot wait.

[UN Office of the Special Coordinator SEA @UN_OSCSEA]

📢 Sexual exploitation, abuse, and harassment can happen to anyone – including our own personnel.

At the landmark @EU_Commission Conference on the Protection of Humanitarian Aid Workers, @CFSaundersUN called for renewed attention and resources to protect aid workers from SEAH in the line of duty.

[Christian Saunders @CFSaundersUN]

Many thanks @dubravkasuica for the good discussion.
@UNRWA has immense humanitarian and strategic value in the region, with expertise difficult to replicate. We will reform to meet today's challenges & ensure assistance reaches those who need it most.

EU support is essential.

[Dubravka Šuica @dubravkasuica]

Good exchange with @CFSaundersUN today on @UNRWA’s vital role in supporting Palestinian refugees.

Its education, healthcare and humanitarian services are essential for millions and for regional stability.

The EU remains committed to supporting the Agency and I welcome its ongoing reforms.

[Christian Saunders @CFSaundersUN]

After three years of profound loss, civilians need more than words.

It is time for peace, so that people - Israelis, Palestinians, and all peoples of the region may live in security, dignity and peace.

[Christian Saunders @CFSaundersUN]

Three years on from 7 October 2023, we remember all those whose lives were taken and all those whose lives were changed forever: those killed in the attacks in Israel, the hostages and their families, and the civilians killed, injured and displaced in Gaza and the region.

Half of humanity cannot be left out of building our digital future.

At #UNGA, @unwomenchief called for women to be at the heart of cybersecurity — designing it, delivering it and leading it.

[António Guterres @antonioguterres]

Around the world, women & girls continue to face discrimination, violence & abuse.

Their rights are rolled back, their voices silenced, their bodies turned into battlegrounds & their freedoms treated as bargaining chips.

This is an outrage & a profound waste for humanity.

[Christian Saunders @CFSaundersUN]

@WFPChief @LukeJLindberg @WFP Warm welcome Luke @LukeJLindberg , looking forward to working with you.

Carl,
Huge appreciation for your unwavering and courageous support while @WFPChief and deep admiration for your extraordinary leadership of @WFP over this period.

[UNHCR Mozambique and Angola @UNHCRMozambique]

Humanitarian assistance must never come at a cost.

In Memba, UNHCR trained frontline teams on PSEA, reinforcing that sexual exploitation and abuse are never acceptable and that communities must know their rights and have safe ways to report misconduct.

[Misión de la ONU en Colombia @MisionONUCol]

En Naciones Unidas, todos y todas tenemos un papel que desempeñar en la prevención y respuesta frente a la explotación y el abuso sexual. Juntos promovemos el respeto y la dignidad.

1 in 5 children across 21 countries have experienced tech-facilitated sexual exploitation and abuse.

More than half of abuse occurred on mainstream social media platforms, new report finds: https://t.co/22B6KgrXY4

[UNICEF Montenegro @UNICEFmne]

Nearly one in five children aged 12–17 — around 20 million children — experienced some form of technology-facilitated sexual exploitation or abuse in just one year across the 21 countries covered by a new UNICEF report. Montenegro is among them.

Around 9 million children were asked to engage in sexual conversations or share sexual images or videos against their will.

More than two in five children who experienced abuse told no one what had happened, while fewer than 1 per cent reported their experience to the police, a social worker or a helpline.

This is not a call for children to be more careful. It is a call for institutions to act.

Decision-makers must:

* strengthen laws and regulatory frameworks and ensure accountability, including responses to sexual extortion and AI-generated child sexual abuse material;

* invest in reliable reporting systems and child protection, health, justice and social welfare services that children can trust;

* require digital platforms to be safe by design — through stronger privacy protections, limits on contact between children and unknown adults, algorithms that do not recommend harmful content to children, and better mechanisms for detecting and reporting abuse.

The burden of protection must not fall on children.

A safer digital environment is possible, but only if governments and technology companies act now.

Rahaf, 14 years old, lost so much during the war in #Gaza.

But she has not lost her dream of becoming a doctor.

Despite displacement, limited spaces, school buildings being used as shelters for Palestine Refugee families and repeated disruptions to education, UNRWA continues to help hundreds of thousands of children in Gaza keep learning through distance education and temporary learning spaces.

UNRWA also provides psychosocial support to help children heal, recover, and regain their confidence.

Help more children like Rahaf keep learning and pursue their dreams.
