@MarcNixon24 80% bots, 20% conservatives shown your content.
You have to be realistic on social media. You know damn well more than 4% of the population are for Carney regardless of the job he does.
@Jefffillion@GBC_Press As of August its $4.23 USD avg per gallon of milk in the USA.
$6.77 CAD ($4.87 USD) in Canada.
Canada's prices are artificially higher due to the supply management system.
America's prices are artificially lower due to $20B/year subsidies of the dairy industry.
It's a wash.
@ScrantonCapitol@TerriWuEpoch Massive tariffs? Canada had an effective rate of 1.5% on American goods and America had an effective rate of 1.0% on Canadian goods prior to liberation day.
Very reasonable rates to protect certain industries and ideals like food security, etc.
@MatthewHJnter@GBC_Press I'm no foreign policy expert, but it seems like Russia is much weaker than I grew up believing. Bankrupt and low on arms.
China is the only other REAL superpower these days. They appear friendlier to much of the west recently, likely trying to swoop in while Trump makes enemies.
TikTok wine moms really think they are smart enough to pass the bar exam after "investigating" the Lindsay Clancy case.
Turns out the only bar they pass is the wine bar. 🍷
@GBC_Press Smart play. If Trump is innocent, he'd have to open the files up to discovery to prove it in a defamation case.
If he's guilty, he just won't even sue him at all.
@mariana_x@PinoAmericano The poultry & eggs were much closer, the walls were essentially hit and exports stopped. No tariffs were charged.
USA subsidizes their farming. $22B/year for dairy, $7-11B/year for poultry/eggs. Artificially lowering prices, yet expecting to compete without tariffs? Get fucked
@mariana_x@PinoAmericano Mine? You posted all of the Over-Quota tariff numbers and didnt acknowledge what actually gets charged is 1.5%, as quotas are never met.
The only wall hit was cheese (99%). The others were only filled by:
Milk 15%
Yogurt 10%
Butter 30%
Spreads 0%
Other milk fats 0%
Total = 42%
@furnuwees@juscallmebeej@StillRadNotaFad Prevents exporting too much subsidized goods with artificially lowered prices.
Same reason the USA tariffs Canadian lumber at 10%.
@StillRadNotaFad So you have an issue with Canada subsidizing lumber to the tune of $9.9B (7.1B USD) a year, but not with America subsidizing dairy or poultry farmers to the tune of $38B per year?
Canada has NEVER charged the over-quote tariffs for dairy or eggs.
@GuntherEagleman Canada is a small country of 40 million people. How do you suggest they stop running a deficit? Canadians already spend $9300 on US goods per person vs. Americans spending $1200 on Canadian goods per person.
@govt_corrupt If Canada got rid of the Dairy Management System, and USA stopped subsidizing the dairy industry to the tune of $22.2B per year, there could be a real discussion for free trade and letting the markets decide.
I suspect both countries want to keep their farmers working, however.
